"Central University stepped down from the match," Coach informed Taehyung. Unbeknownst to him the captain had his head wrapped around something else, one out of the two things he could not quite put a finger on. "Taehyung? Hello?" Taehyung lifted his head to stare at the coach blankly. "Did you hear what I just said?"
"Yes Coach." Taehyung bit his lips. Eyebrows crooked into a frown his face casted no emotions. Reaping nothing else from the captain, the coach sighed. "Inform the boys too." He patted the captain's shoulder and headed towards the gym.
With a curt nod Taehyung had entered the locker room to find the boys kidding around with Jeongguk, scrunching his jersey at the back. He cleared his throat to get their attention. "Oh Taehyung's here! Cap, don't you think Jeongguk would look good in a cheerleaders' uniforms. Look his waist his so small!" And, it was. Maybe the smallest waist Taehyung will ever see.
"Bad luck, you will never get to see me in those. So, stop dreaming!" Jeongguk tried to free himself but the boy refused to let go.
"Koosung, let him be." The said boy did as he was told though the playfulness still wafted in the air. "You're such a fun killer today. What up, Taehyung?"
The captain scoffed before he spoke up again. "Central University withdrew from the match." It was not meant to be funny or rather it was not but the guys laughed, all except one. Jeongguk, the youngest of all, kept looking at each of their faces. Perhaps someone would leak the probable crux behind that good of a laugh.
"Um, so, it's a walk over then?" The youngest called out.
"No," Taehyung raised his head to gauge everyone's reaction. Laughter slowly dissipating on denial of the most possible outcome. "Hoshi University replaced them in block A team chart." The grave expression from his face now transmitted to the other players. Unlike before, Jeongguk sort of had a hunch as to why there was a sudden transition of composure in the atmosphere.
Hoshi University Basketball Team had been and still was one of the hot topics circulating in the campus after the last Season's games. They were known for their sneaky dirty tactics, once in a while during matches. To top it off, the captain of that team had the worst history to recall with Taehyung being a part of it.
"Taehyung, just keep your hands off every girls this time." Yuki sighed deeply, almost being able to lighten the mood of the others, however, punching the former perplexity back on Jeongguk's face.
"Uh guys, I'm lost?" At that, each of the boys' attention directed to Jeongguk.
"Rumours had Taehyung made a move on the other captain's girlfriend." Typical, Jeongguk thought. A grim line forming on his lips. That was however until one of the boys cleared his misconceptions. "Though we all know the girl was a damned cheater. She was seen making out with someone else even after a fight had broken down between her boyfriend and Taehyung. Moreover, our captain knows when to keep his hands to himself, so we don't blame him. But, better be safe than sorry." The informer shrugged while all the others except Taehyung nodded in agreement.
