S- Soulmate

Summary: Blinki and Jim are trying to settle an argument, they recruit Krel to help.

As Krel tinkers with headphones blasting, Blinky, AAARRRGGHH, and Jim are pacing through the control room. This now familiar room lacks the feeling of alienation that Jim was so shocked by when he first entered. The advanced technology, that he once asked Krel to teach him (but was humbled rather quickly) seemingly standard.

"A-HA!" Krel leaps from his chair headphones still playing, "I'VE DONE IT" he shouted over his music. AAARRRGGHH gently lifted his headphones off and placed them carefully on his desk.

"How do you?" Jim asked curious.

"Well that is why you're here my friend, if I scan you with this probe" a slick blue light which swirled and span wrestled in Krels hands. Jim definitely believed the time was now, he was officially being probed by aliens.
"Then it will scan you on a molecular level, hopefully telling us your 'soulmate' which by the way is a rather primitive theory" Krel looked smug, filled with his own boisterous genuis.

"Well then who's yours?" Blinky asked with intruige, and slight offense.

"Er-um well I haven't tried it myself" he looked nervous as the probe continued to spin slowly in his hands.
"Anyway, Jim stand here" he directed his companion to the center of the room.

Krel looked at Jim for confirmation, Jim knew who his soulmate was in every universe.
"I'm ready" Jim closed his eyes as a blinding blue light spread through the room.

The small screen on the scanner lit up and without surprise revealed... Tobias Domzalski. An obviously confused Jim stood startled.

"See! I told you a soulmate can be platonic!" Blinky exclaimed excitedly.

"Hold on rocky one, I had it set to platonic" Krel twisted the dial and the name on the screen morphed into Claire Nuñez. A relieved sigh left Jim's lungs, of course they were both his soulmates, he just didn't feel that way towards his bestfriend (I know some people think otherwise and that's fine too).

"So I'm wrong?" Bliky sounded defeated.

"No Blinkous, you were both right. There are both romantic and platonic soulmates, that's why I used Jim as an example. He has such a bond with both Toby and Claire, I knew he could prove my hypothesis. There are both" Krel said patiently.

"So who are ours?" AAARRRGGHH asked curious.

"Let's see" Krel scanned the troll and unsurprisingly the name Blinkous Galadrigal appeared on the screen. "So Blinky is your platonic and..." his voice trialed off as the screen for romantic revealed the word, "inconclusive? How's that possible i don't understand. This is yours soul I'm scanning" Krel banged the side of his contraption.

While Jim and Blinky began their discussion about who was correct, to Krel's surprise a name did infact appear, Blinky.

Krel walked to his troll companion and showed him the screen questioning kindly. AAARRRGGHH nodded and looked rather calm abou the whole thing.

Krel walked back over, "alright, Blinky, your turn my friend" Blinky stood stock still as the swirling probe scanned his soul.

A name appeared, Aarghaumont.

"Ah, of course my friend, you are my most treasured companion" Blinky rested a hand on AAARRRGGHH's arm.

"Actually Blinky, the probe was set to romantic?" Jim almost asks.

"Yes my friends, my answer still does not change" Jim simply smiled and took the probe from Krel's hands.

"HEY, you'll break it stop!" Krel twisted to try and get the scanner back from Jim's clasp, but of course, he was going up against the Trollhunter... he nearly got it BUT, with Jim's reflexes he was able to pull it out of the reach of his four arms, although, granted, by slim margins.

"Come on Krel, I won't even tell you if you don't want to know but you got me curious" Jim smirked and stepped away, sending krel floundering to the ground.

With yet another flash of blinding blue light, the screen lit up revealing a name. Aja Terron.

"Aja? Oh kleb I hope that platonic" Krel almost keeled over with the thought in disgust.

"Oh, yeah it is" Jim said fiddling with the controls, "here we go" the screen lighting up once more.
