The Queens Request | Ganqing

Chapter 2

Ganyu's Pov

Ganyu looked all around her. Where was the door? Ningguang? Where had she gone? Ganyu shuddered her head. She saw a lot of people. She still couldn't believe this is 3 months before Teyvat blew up. 

It must be winter. Everyone is walking around in long dresses and jackets. Ganyu suddenly had a jacket too. Trembling from the horrible cold, Ganyu sticks her hands in her pockets. She felt something.. thin.. In her left pocket? She pulled out a piece of paper. 

(Go to this address: ###########. Also, your school is to the right of your house. You have temporary roomates. You need to go to that school and find the demon. Once you have, kill it. They will look like a normal human, so it might take you some time. I'm sorry for bringing you here with such short notice.

With Sincere apology, Ningguang.)

Ningguang's fancy handwriting. Ganyu could recognize that from anywhere. Why did she even leave a signature? Ganyu just crumbled it up and threw it in the trash can nearest a restaurant called Wanmin Restaurant.

(10 minutes later...)

An apartment complex. 'This must be my.. "house" ..'

Ganyu easily found her room. It was on the 4th floor. Ganyu hesitantly opened the door. Maybe the demon was her roommate?

No. 3 people. She could sense it. They were humans. Agh. Ningguang did state in her letter that she would have "roommates" instead of "roommate" .

One of her roommates was a girl with green hair and delicate looking ears. There was another girl with red bunny ears and dark brown hair. The last girl had a very messy blonde ponytail and looked like she was from the Inazuman culture.

"Oh, Hello! This must be our new roommate!! Sucrose, say hi!" The Inazuman girl said. The girl who Ganyu guessed was named "Sucrose" said, "A-ah, hello! My name is Sucrose, it's wonderful to meet you..." Sucrose waved shyly. "Oh, yeah! I'm Yoimiya, the daughter of the Naganohara family! I'm sure you've heard of them?"

"Uh, definitely have.." Ganyu chuckled. "I'm Ganyu." Ganyu nodded her head. "That's a nice name! And also, that's Amber. She's on her phone right now so she's not paying attention."

Ganyu wondered why so many people from so many regions come to this one Liyue high school, but she didn't think much of it.

(The girls help Ganyu get settled in, help her place her bags, decorate her room, and give her a tour. Ganyu goes to sleep knowing that she has the best roommates. She just hopes the rest of these 3 months will be just as calming..)

Ganyu slept like it was nothing. It's a new day, and Ganyu has to get used to these new human appliances. She's still confused on how the microwave works. It's also weird not to have her wings and halo, but she can adapt. 

After taking a shower, brushing her teeth, and eating breakfast, she decides to start walking to school. Her roommates said they could take her, but Ganyu assured them she would be fine. After all, she had to remember the real reason she was here. She didn't know what Ningguang would do if she hadn't finished what she had been tasked.

Ganyu came across the school. It was huge! No wonder so many people went to this school. Ganyu walked through the big entrance doors to the main office. "Hello, welcome! What's your name?" Someone at the front desk asked. "I'm, uh, Ganyu Qilin, do you have anyone to show me around the school?" Ganyu asked. If she was gonna go to this school, she might as well get to know what it looks like. "Keqing, get over here! This weird- um, new kid, needs a tour."

The girl named Keqing came out from behind the counter. "Yes mom, I'll give her a tour." The girl named Keqing said. "I'm Ganyu, it's nice to meet you." Ganyu said. This person had a odd scent. Ganyu didn't trust her yet. "I'm Keqing. Class is gonna start in," Keqing glanced at her watch, "about 30 minutes. That seems long enough. Come with me." 

(They both walked through the hallways. Keqing seemed like a pretty nice and calm person, but Ganyu couldn't trust anyone. Having a partner while trying to save Teyvat isn't an option.)

"That's all for now. This is your classroom, also mine. You probably don't want to be the last person to walk into the room, because that's embarrassing." Keqing said in her informal tone. "Alright, I'll just go in now then. It was nice to meet you, Keqing." Ganyu said. She just had to get to class and finish todays work. "Are those horns?" Keqing reached out to touch Ganyu's horns.

"N-no! Those are hairpins, don't touch those!!" Ganyu flinched and stepped backwards. "Huh, okay. I'm sorry." Keqing sighed. "It's fine.. I just don't like them being touched.." Keqing just nodded and trudged into the classroom. Ganyu followed close behind.

A little while later, class started. "Ganyu, can you introduce yourself to the class?" The teacher smiled. All the eyes were on her. Ganyu hated this kind of attention. Sighing to herself, Ganyu stands up.

"I'm Ganyu.. And.. Uhh..." Ganyu didn't know what to say. "Turn to page 54 to continue the lesson." The teacher starting talking about math. How rude. Ganyu sat down awkwardly. I guess there's gonna be a lot shes gonna have to get used to.

...

It's time for lunch. The hallways are bustling with activity, and all Ganyu can hear are voices. Standing silently with her books, Ganyu stuffs her books in her locker. She's not hungry. Above all, Angels don't eat.

"I need to find a place to sit." Ganyu mumbled to herself. She decided that maybe the rooftop would be the best option. It's quiet, and the feel of the wind is the only familiar thing she has left. Ganyu headed up the stairs, her slow footsteps padding the tiled texture of the staircase. 

There was a sign on the door leading to the exterior part of the rooftop. IMPORTANT: DO NOT COME UP HERE. REPAIRS ARE IN PROGRESS. Ganyu sighed. She pushed the door open anyways. Who cares about what she's supposed to do? She's not from this world anyways.

The scent of the wind was wonderful. Ganyu, standing near the edge, looks up at the sky with her eyes closed. Her hair sways with the wind. She silently listens to the peoples chatters, fears, and chants. Overall, it was peaceful. 

Ganyu's eyes shot open. Fear. It smelled like ash and death. She didn't turn around, but it was coming from behind her. A demon? Would she complete her task early? Ganyu turned around. Keqing. What was she doing up here?

"Ganyu, didn't you see the sign? You shouldn't be up here. Something.. bad.. could happen." For some reason, Keqing stuttered on the word "bad" .

"I'll be fine." Ganyu said. She turned back towards the sky. She needed to find the source of the fear.

"You could get in trouble." Keqing said in her serious tone. "Have you even eaten anything? That's not healthy." 

Ganyu sighed and turned around. I guess she can't finish her time to herself. "I'll go eat somet-" 

What was that? A loud crash. Where did it come from..?
