Ganyu's POV
A dream.. I'm lying in a bed of sweet flowers in Jueyen Karst.. The smell of the flowers makes me happy. It's familar.
I wake up.
Oh, here. Where's Keqing? I look around. What time is it? Yawning, I pull out my watch. 8:00? School starts in 30 minutes! I stand up quickly, struggling to not lose my balance. I slip my sweater back over my shoulders. "Keqing is so responsible she probably left a while ago.." I mumble to myself.
Ugh, I was planning to take a shower and make my hair look really nice today.. Oh well. The most I could do with this time is go and put on my uniform. I headed back to my apartment room.
--
I walked inside. Yoimiya and Sucrose were talking about something, both giggling with their uniforms already on. Meanwhile, Amber, was texting and laughing on her phone. I slowly close the door behind me. "Oh! Ganyu!!! Heeey!" Yoimiya stands up and waves. "Where have you been? We haven't seen you all morning!" Yoimiya smiles in her happy-go-lucky attitude. I sometimes wonder how she can be so positive.
"Uh, I had to pick up some things, nothing much." I smiled back. "It's almost time for school, so please, excuse me." I hurriedly fast walk to my room. "Ok, I'll see you at school..!" Sucrose quietly spoke. I almost didn't hear her. Either way, I waved at them all and headed into my room. Agh, it's 7:15 already? The bus will be here in 5 minutes! I usually don't take the bus, but I should try it out. No time to stand still, I need to go to school!
--
Outside the window, I spot a yellow vehicle. The bus! I slip on my white headband decorated with glaze lilies and grab my purse. Thank goodness this is a school building or else I wouldn't make it to the stop in time. I should just telepor- No, people on earth don't do that. People would suspect me. Ugh, I need to be careful.
Oh, yeah. I can freeze time. I reached out my hand and summoned the small blue orb. I voiced the words in the spell and teleported to the bus stop. I need to make sure I'm careful with my powers. I'm surprised Ningguang didn't take away my abilities before I left.
I sighed and walked onto the bus. The bus driver closed the bus doors, and the bus started moving. I hadn't even taken my seat yet? Ugh. I slipped into the seat 2 layers behind the bus driver, not even paying attention to who was sitting next to me. "I see you woke up on time." A familiar voice echoed. Keqing? Oh, she takes the bus? "Why didn't you wake me up?" I adjusted myself to where I would be facing Keqing. "If you want to be able to stop the destruction of Teyvat, I trust that you can wake yourself on your own." Keqing used her serious tone of voice.
I sighed. She was right. "Yeah, I guess." I gazed at my hand, almost completely covered in a thin layer of ice.. I hate after effects. This happens every time I use my Cryo Vision. "Let me guess, you woke up late and had no time to get ready, and you saw the bus so you had to use your vision to teleport." Keqing gazes at my hand. "How did you guess?" It's almost like Keqing can read my mind. "It's obvious." Keqing says. "Thank goodness for Teyvat, for that's where visions originate from. All the other 85 worlds would not be existent if it weren't for this realm." Keqing calmly rotated herself. She watched outside the window. Almost as if she wanted to remember. Somewhere she used to be, where she had come from.
Why was I even wondering that? It wasn't my business anyways. The bus went over a speed bump, which made everyone else on the bus talk louder. I stuck my pairpodz in my ears, listening to a song. I leaned back against the seat and closed my eyes. I need to relax sometimes..
--
Tick. tock. tick. The clock strikes 12:00, the bell rings. Everyone stands up, the chatter starting up again. As I stand up, my hair falls down and sets on my shoulders. When did the bun come loose? I grab my rubber band with flowers plastered all over it, tie up my hair, and sling my purse over my shoulder. It's only about 20 seconds after the bell rung, and all the students already left. Were they that desperate to eat lunch? I quite enjoyed the sound of the teachers voice.
I quickly leave the classroom, welcomed by worthless conversation. I head through the hallways, following the signs leading to the cafeteria. I open the wide doors and take one look in, a second later pulling my head right back. Too many people. I'm sure the teachers won't mind if I sit somewhere else, right? I did it the other day and I was just fine.
I opened the side doors and took in the fresh, outside air. I smiled. It's April. The Cherry Blossom trees have begun to brighten, the vibrant leaves swaying down onto the grass. I lay my back against one huge tree with big branches. I remove my lunch from my purse. Universal Peace, one of my favorite dishes. I take out a fork and begin to eat. The silence was nice, but some of the cherry blossoms landed in my rice.
The side doors swooped open, and out came Keqing. How does she always know where I am? I shouldn't be surprised. Holding her lunch bag, she trudged over to me and sat down. I just looked at her. Her hair swaying with the pink leaves falling gracefully.. Keqing picked up a blossom and stuck in in my hair. I turned the other way, trying to hide my blush.
Keqing didn't mind. She just chuckled and took out her meal, Golden shrimp balls with mini fish skewers on the side. We both didn't really talk, we just ate our own food. It was nice to have someone to be silent with. I don't enjoy being around people who talk too much.
AFTER SCHOOL
I was walking home from school, the usual. I had missed the bus because I was zoning out, and now was walking home with a hyper Yoimiya who was skipping around me. She was humming a little song and dancing with this sparkler she had with her. I had to admit though, it was kinda cute.
"Why are you in such a cheerful mood?" I ask, gazing Yoimiya in the eyes. "It's good to always be positive!" Yoimiya replied, continuing her behavior. "Also, the Local Inazuman Festival is tommorrow!" Yoimiya walked ahead of me and looked me in the eyes. I could almost see the stars, shining bright inside of her pupils. "Huh? Never heard of that." "What? Have you been living under a rock or something?" Yoimiya giggled.
"No, seriously, tell me! You're making me curious!" I laughed. "Okayyyy, If you want to know so bad. It goes across 3 weeks, each day being a different thing the Inazuma locals find important! I really like this festival because on the day striking the 3rd week, my family makes fireworks! Sadly, it only comes once a year, but that doesn't stop it from being fun!" Yoimiya gazed up at the sky, as if there were fireworks blasting into the air. What an innocent child.
"That.. Sounds like fun." I hesitantly said. In heaven, it was all work, no play. There was barely any free time. I was lucky if I even had time to make a sandwich. "You have to come! Trust me, it will be worth it!" Yoimiya smiled at me. I can't say no.. besides, I guess it wouldn't be that bad.. "Alright. I'll go." "Thank you, thank you! I promise you won't regret it!" Yoimiya ran off, waved, and lit another sparkler, skipping into the abyss.
Well, guess I have to prepare for this festival.
