I stood there. There was another knock at the door. "Peggy?," Rose said. "Uhm, thank you for the favor Rose." I said standing in the middle of the room feeling my mouth go dry. I hung up the phone before she could answer. "Peggy, are you in there?," Another knock. Dottie Underwood is dead, but she's knocking at my door. Maybe it was a mistake?, maybe she faked her death?. To get a better life?. I didn't know what to do. I looked at the door, and envisioned Dottie standing behind it. Was she gonna kill me?, was she holding a gun behind the door?.
I slowly began walking to the door, it felt like I was floating, every step felt like my last. But finally I made it, I reached my hand out, and grabbed it. I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath. I opened the door, and there stood Dottie holding one of my dresses in her hand. No gun. "Are you ok Peg?, looks like you just seen a ghost." She said and laughed. I nervously chuckled at the irony, "Y-Yeah I am ok, just tired." I said and slowly took the dress from her hands. "Have a nice night." She said and walked back to her room. Smiling before she walked in. "T-Thanks you too." I said still standing there.
I slowly walked back into my room, and set my dress down on my vanity. I walked to my bed and sat down, just sat there. This is bad, like really bad. I laid down, and after what felt like forever, I drifted to sleep.
I woke up to the noise of my clock ringing. "Bloody hell, can't a girl get some sleep around here." I said to myself and sat up, turning off the deafening noise coming from my clock. Then I remembered, I remembered everything that happened the night before. I can't believe this is happening. I have to do detective work on Stark and Dottie. I got up, and slowly did my morning routine, feeling not so ready to start the day. When I was done getting ready, I grabbed my coat and my hat.
And when I opened the door, I was met with Dottie and Angie having a conversation right outside my room. "Goodmorning ladies." I said and closed my door. "Well goodmorning Peg, you look swell." Dottie said and smiled. "Mornin English." Angie said and smiled. "Shall we go fetch some breakfast?," I asked, trying not to make eye contact with Dottie. "I would love to." Dottie said. We began to walk to the Griffith dining room, the place where all the girls gather to eat meals and have meetings. I tried to avoid making eye contact or even talk to Dottie the whole way there. When we walked into the dining room, we were met with the amazing smell of food and dozens of lovely women.
We took a seat at the table, and I was sitting right next to Dottie. Waiters brought around food for all the girls at the table. "So Peg, do you know of any jobs around here that have an opening?." Dottie asked, whilst eating her eggs. "Uhmm, not that I have heard of, but maybe you could get a job at the diner," I said sipping my coffee. "Any openings at your job?," I choked on my coffee at her question. She looked at me with concern. "No, my job is pretty full of workers at the moment." I said wiping the sides of my mouth with a napkin. I awkwardly took another sip. Then I looked at my watch.
"Oh, would you look at the time, I've gotta go to work, don't wanna be late!." I said, even though I had 30 more minutes left. I stood up and left in a hurry.
Dottie's POV
Peggy has been acting a little strange lately, I can't seem to quite wrap my head around why. Unless she's on to me. But how? I've done everything in my power to remain undercover. I killed the real Dottie Underwood and just became her. Peggy really is brilliant. I've been warned about her several times by Fennhoff. I really thought nobody would ever be as good as me, but I think I've met my match. Peggy carter is gonna be a pain in my ass. I think I might hold off on my task for right now, Peggy might be on to me, and I want her guard to be fully down when I neutralize her. I have to come up with a plan, a good one, and fast. But I think I might already have one. A good one.
Peggy's POV
I walked into the SSR building, and headed towards my desk, as I was walking, I noticed a strange man standing in Chief Dooleys office. I hung my hat and coat up, and sat down, still studying the man through the large glass window. "His name is Dr. Johann Fennhoff." I heard Daniel say. "He claims that he was being forced by Howard Stark to make a photonic amplifier." He said. I looked at him and looked back at the man. "Are we sure he's telling the truth?," I asked squinting my eyes. "I'm not quite sure, Dooley believes him." He said, looking at the man.
