My mate. I can't believe I found my mate. I feel like I can't move, like chains are around me not allowing me to make a single movement. I was frozen in shock.

The red eyes came closer. I took a step forward finally out of my frozen state. Since it was dark out I couldn't really see much, but with the moonlight shinning through the tall trees I could see his outline. He stood tall about 6'.

He came closer and I could see his face. His gorgeous face. He had a drip of blood on the side of his lips. I looked towards it and his thump sexily rubbed it off.

"What are you doing out late at night?" His husky voice asked.

"Am I not allowed to go out?" I asked and tilted my head a bit and placing my hands on my hips.

"No. You could've gotten attacked or even worse.. Killed." His hand reached out and touched my face making good shocks of electricity go through me.

"I'm a big girl, I think I can handle my own."

He walked around me and whispered in my ear. "Your mine and you shouldn't be out in the dark alone."

I shivered, not because of the cold."I know your my mate, but you can't control me. I don't even know you." I huffed and crossed my arms.

It was silent and all you could hear was the trees being blown by the wind. We stared into each other's eyes. Neither of us looking away. It's like a contest on who can look away first. We turn when we hear a voice.

"SKYLAR! Where are you?" Masons voice yelled in the woods.

"MASON?" I yelled back.

"Sky! I thought I lost you."

"Mase! I can't see you."

I felt eyes burning holes on the side of my head. I turn and look at my mate, I have yet to know his name. He seemed to be in deep thought.

"Who is he?" He asked darkly.

"He's my older brother." I responded in a whisper. He nodded and started to walk away.

"Wait! Don't go. I don't even know your name." I yelled.

"I'm Coleridge, Talon Coleridge." He says and continues walking away.

"By the way, I'm Skylar Perez." I yell.

He's out of my line of sight and he's gone. Will I ever see him again?

"Talon." I whisper. It felt good to say his name out loud.

I stayed standing in the same place staring at the place my mate used to be. I was mates with a vampire. Talon Coleridge. I've heard that name before, but I don't remember from where.

"Sky? Is that you?" Masons deep voice asks from behind me.

I turn around and look at him. "Yeah."

He walks up to me and then we walk home together. We entered from the back door and then went our separate ways. I walked to the kitchen and saw Amanda there sitting on a stool.

"Sky. Where were you? The Nutella cupcakes are almost done and then we have to put icing on them." Amanda said when she noticed me. I was still in a daze. "Essie? What happened?"

I looked up to meet her eyes and said, "I found my mate."

"Really? Where?"

"In the woods. Never mind that. Let's start decorating those cupcakes! If we don't then who's going to?" I chuckled and took out the icing.
