Elise's POV:

Riddle had been avoiding me. But whenever we spoke he wouldn't make eye contact, he was ACTUALLY being really nice. You cannot possibly blame me for being suspicious.

Transfiguration went by with a flash. Dumbledore was rather cheerful and kind but he could see straight through Riddle which I adored.

I was now in the library, reading a muggle book called Emma. It was rather interesting. Cassy was seated across from me and she kept scrunching her face up whenever she looked across the room. I knew I was going to regret this but, I gently place the book in my lap and sigh.

"Cassy what ever is the matter" I was generally worried about her.

"Tom Riddle and his gang of followers. He keeps looking over here at you and it's creeping me out" I roll my eyes and giggle. "Creeping YOU out. I'm the one who he is staring at." I whisper at Cassy. She simply shrugs but carries on reading.

As the hours flutter by I cannot help but feel as if someone is watching me. Their eyes watching me. I begin to shift uncomfortably in my seat.

"Oh for..I can't. I'm going back to the common room okay?" I wave at Cassy who just hums some sort of response.

I gather my stuff and exit the library, but not before I look at Riddle who seems deep in thought.

Shaking my head firmly I walk out. I begin my walk to the common room. Why was Tom staring at me? Whenever we spoke it was either silent or very very nice. Which I think is odd.

Maybe he likes me? Oh gosh. How stupid. Or maybe planning to kill me. Probably the second option.

Tom Riddle wishing nothing more than the new transfer dead. Hmmmm. Seems very plausible.

I turn another corner of the corridor and suddenly halt. My eyes widen. There leaning against the stone wall is Tom. I swear he was at the library still.

"Riddle?" I slowly, cautiously walk towards him. He reminds me of a wild cat. Unable to tame and easily irritated.

"Ah Elise Er hello.. Hmm I-I" Tom stands straight up and begins to say words in random orders. His hair was all over the place. "Are you okay?" I giggle at the sight of him. "Yes yes quite well. How...how are you?" Tom was acting strange, like he wasn't there. I mean mentally.

"I'm fine thank you" I felt uneasy again. "Good good. That is great" he looks down. His facial features rather confused and disorientated. I can't help but notice how attractive he looks. The way the moon shines on one side but casts a shadow on the other. How ironic. My breathing increases at these thoughts.

There was an awkward silence. "I'm really sorry for the other night" he says quickly.

"It's fine really." I assure him.

"No no it isn't. I really am sorry..." His face scrunches up in disgust. Maybe he shouldn't be apologising. "Tom I have to go. So if you will excuse me. Have a nice evening" I turn and rush to the common room. Breathing heavily.

"Hey are you okay?" Jake looks up from the sofa. "er yeah" I nod furiously.
"Are you-" before he finishes I rush over to him and sit next to Jake. "Look look. Tom Riddle literally stalked me to the common room to apologise to me." Jakes' eyes widen. "He never says sorry to ANYONE. AND MEAN IT" oh god.

I huff as I sink in to the sofa. "What does that mean?"

"I have no idea. Talk to him about it. " Jake shrugs. "I will"

After saying goodnight, I rush up stairs and prepare for bed.
