Wish I Could Explain It Better

The night was as bloody as usual, and the rest of the week continued the same. Taehyung and Jungkook bickered a little more than normal, but no one really batted an eye toward them.

"Seriously I had that you didn't have to help me—" Taehyung froze in place when he noticed Jungkook glancing at his lips while he was going off on him. The hunter's eyes widened when his heart reacted—it fucking reacted by skipping a beat. Despite the constant arguments, they both couldn't help but look at each other's lips every now and then.

The yearning only grew deeper, but the hunter groaned angrily at him while yelling, "You know what, just forget it!" He pushed past him and Jungkook smiled in amusement as he watched him walk toward the van while the rest of their team just ignored them.

After a week of destroying nests, Taehyung realized that they were getting closer to Hades with the way that the nest leaders spoke to Jungkook. They would warn him that he was making a mistake, then they would warn Taehyung that he really didn't want to get closer. "Of course, you're both working together—ha! Imagine if Hades knew..." the vampire leader had laughed as he looked at Taehyung with a bright smile, "He's obsessed with you." He had warned with a laugh, but Jungkook silenced him by piercing his hand into his heart before yanking it out.

No vampire had survived them, except the one with the human family, but besides him, there was no one capable of relaying information of Jungkook's alliance to the vampire hunter Hades desperately wanted. The realization made Jungkook uneasy because he started to wonder how Hades would react if he knew.

The warning stayed with Taehyung, replaying in his mind as he continued to think about it while Namjoon drove toward Jungkook's home, "Don't listen to them." Jungkook advised under his breath and Taehyung managed to shrug. "If you'd feel safer with us around, I wouldn't mind—"

"I'd feel safer with you far away from me." Taehyung spoke coldly as he turned to glare at the vampire and Jungkook seemed surprised, but he sat back as they stared at each other. Well, Taehyung glared while the vampire just looked at him with no expression in his eyes.

"Not again." Hoseok muttered bitterly while the rest of the team looked uncomfortable. "Can you two please try to be nice to each other?" he nearly begged but Taehyung continued to frown at Jungkook.

"Taehyung, Jungkook is just trying to help. You don't have to be so cold towards him." Yoongi glared at him, but Jimin tried to calm him down by patting his hand lightly.

Taehyung rolled his eyes as he looked away from everyone to stare outside the window. Seokjin frowned gently as he looked at Jungkook, but his friend remained expressionless. Seokjin couldn't understand the constant fighting between the two of them—especially when Taehyung had seemed to warm up to them as of recently.

Namjoon exhaled tiredly as he parked the van, "We're here." He turned and smiled at Jungkook and Seokjin, "Thank you for tonight, now go get some rest." His smile faded when the vampires silently got out of the van. When they were gone, he turned to Taehyung, "Would it kill you to be nice to him?" He was ready to beg at this point because he was exhausted from them.

"I think it would, actually." Taehyung glanced at each of them because they all looked at him with very tired expressions and so the hunter looked out the window instead. "Can we just go? I need a bath." He muttered the last part.

In their dangerous lives, wounds weren't unusual—especially for the humans. They've gotten hurt plenty of times, but nothing had been too severe until the following night.
