POV: Lauren
"Mi Alma, where do I put Lio's diaper bag?" I turned to Nat who was sprawled out on the bed, half asleep.
"Closet as always." Nat mumbled into the pillow.
Diego jumped up onto the bed, nudged Nat with his nose to check on her, and once she moved with her usual groan he settled down against her side.
"Sleepy?" I asked with a small smile. I had to give it to her. She was running on low sleep as it was, and to top it off she dealt with her psychotic, murderous ex two days ago.
"Mhm," Natilie barely opened her eyes to check on Emilio who was quietly playing with his train.
"You take a nap while we get everything settled. You deserve it, mamí." I bent over to kiss her temple. "I'm so proud of you." I whispered to her.
I saw her lips twitch up to a smile. She didn't really do well with verbally accepting compliments, but she'd show it through body language. The small smile was one of the few tells.
"We gon' see volcanoes!" Emilio decided to yell for no reason other than sudden excitement and realization.
"Yes we are Guapo, but let's keep our voices down so Mommy can sleep for a few minutes." I picked him up off of the floor to take him to the bathroom and dropped the diaper bag off in the closet, but I didn't forget to take his train with us too. That would cause an entire meltdown.
"Give me twenty and I'll be set. I'll treat it like a concert day." Nat mumbled.
"Go to sleep and relax. You take your time." I rolled my eyes at her antics. No matter how tired she was she'd want to be with the group if we were out. No one blames her for her exhaustion though. She barely slept on the plane since Lio decided to pitch a fit on and off.
"Mommy sleep?" Lio looked over my shoulder.
"Yeah, let's let her sleep for a bit." I kissed his forehead and sat him on the bathroom sink.
"I sit with her?"
"I can't have you sleeping and being awake all night or keeping Mommy awake. She needs a quick nap." I ruffled up his hair.
"Auntie Liza said she is going to hang out with me tomorrow night. We're going to eat chicken nuggies." He focused in on one of the train wheels and spun it over and over again.
If he did that beside Nat right now she'd kill me for letting him.
I quickly remembered why and my eyes went wide for a second.
"Yeah, you'll get to have a sleepover with her and your Auntie Ally." I sat down on the edge of the tub while he rolled the train back and forth on the hotel bathroom tiles.
"Diego come too?"
"Yeah, Diego is going with you for the night."
I occasionally checked my watch and made sure thirty minutes had passed. It takes her ten minutes to fall asleep alone, and twenty for a proper power nap. My power naps and her power naps are two different beings.
"Mi Alma, wake up. It's time to explore." I gently shook my wife's arm.
Natilie's face screwed up in annoyance.
"Nat, open your eyes. It's time to wake up." I crouched down beside her to sit eye level with her.
Her hands reached up and cutely wiped at her eyes before opening them.
"Hi, baby." I smiled and kissed her nose. "It's time to go see Hawaii."
Natilie groaned and reluctantly sat up with a cracking back.
