Just A Memory (Louis Tomlinson Fanfic)

Chapter 7-

-Kathleen's Pov-
I woke up to Kaitlynn jumping on the bed. "Mommmy!! Wake up I'm hungy!" Ugh, I really don't feel like getting up. I rolled over and checked the time on the clock, 9:15. I got to go to work at 10. "Alright baby just give me a second." I threw the blankets over me and walked into the kitchen. I started to make some coffee as Kaitlynn got the cereal out of the cabinet. "Kait, get me a yogurt from the fridge." As I poured her some cereal I began wondering why her babysitter isn't here yet. It's Friday so she doesn't have daycare and it's already 9:20. I poured the milk into her bowl and ran to my room to get my phone. I disconnected it from the charger and called the babysitter, Jenny.
(K for Kathleen & J for Jenny)
J: Hello?
K: Hey, Jenny I was just calling to see when you plan on coming. I got to leave in a couple minutes so it would mean a lot if u get here in like 5 minutes
J: Kathleen don't you remember? I told you a couple days ago I couldn't babysit because I'm going see my grandma.
K: oh gosh I completely forgot! Ugh alright bye Jen
J: sorry about that, bye.

Ah shit. What am I suppose to do now? I ran back to the kitchen and picked up Kaitlynn's bowl. She must be in her room. "Kaitlynn, hunny I'm going take a quick shower. Don't make a mess please!" After a quick shower I blowed dried my hair and threw on my work clothes, not bothering to straighten my hair or put make up on. I got Kaitlynn dressed and braided her hair. Grabbing a cup from the cabinet, I poured some coffee and filled her bottle with some milk. I grabbed my keys and purse and headed out to the car with Kaitlynn. "Today you're coming to work with mommy."

As I rushed into Starbucks I stuck Kaitlynn at a table along with her bag that contained some of her toys. I threw my bag under the counter and signed in. "Briana, I am so sorry I'm late! My babysitter couldn't come today and I had to get her ready too!" She smiled towards me and shook her head. "Kathleen, it's okay. I get it. I know I would be late all the time if I had a child to take care of. Now stop apologizing and take some orders." She smirked and walked away. thank goodness I have the best manager ever. "Who's next?" I grabbed a booklet and a pen, ready to take an order. "Look who it is." I didn't even have to look up to know who that voice belongs too. "Louis are you like stalking me?" I gave him a smirk and he laughed, throwing his head back. "Yes I'm totally stalking you." He winked and leaned against the counter. "I'll have a Caramel Frappuccino please." As I was making his coffee I saw him walk over to Kaitlynn and talk to her, asking her what she was coloring. I put a lid on the drink and couldn't help but stare at them. If only it could be like his all the time... "Louis, your orders up." I rang it up on the cash register and gave him his receipt as he payed. "Does she usually come to work with you." He asked while watching her. "No. She goes to daycare during the week and her babysitter couldn't make it today. This is actually the first time she came to work with me." He took a sip from us drink, still looking at her. "Well I could watch her." I swear my jaw hit the floor. "What? No Louis you don't have to-" He cut me off mid sentence. "C'mon, I can handle it. Besides you're at work, you don't need any distractions. Just let me watch her." Should I let him? I mean he's right I need to focus but I can't really let him watch her can I? Oh Kathleen just let him, think about your daughter. Let her spend some time with her father. "Hmm, alright fine. You can watch her but have her back here by 1. That's when I get off." A huge smile lit his face. "Okie Dokie I will." He walked towards Kaitlynn and gathered her stuff. "Don't do anything crazy Lou!"
-3 hours later-
"I'll see you later Briana!" She waved a little goodbye and I headed out the door. Now where is Louis? "Mommy!" I looked to the left and saw Kaitlynn and Louis walking toward me. "I told you I would be here by 1." She gave me a hug and I picked her up, resting her on my hip. "Thanks Louis for watching her. It means a lot." He stuck his hands in his pocket and kicked at the rocks on the ground. "It's no big deal. It was fun." It was silent for a bit so I decided it might be a good time to leave. "Well thanks again. Bye Louis." I turned around and started to walk away. "Kat, wait!" I stop in my tracks and he walked toward me. "Would you want to come to my mom's house with me?" I was about to decline his offer, but he cut me off. "Please. She would love to see you!" I thought about it for a moment. Do it for Kaitlynn. She needs to spend more time with her dad and she hasn't seen her grandma in forever so I guess this would be a good time to, hopefully. "Alright, I'll come."
