Chapter 6

One Week Later

Amanda's POV

I was off today so I decided to take my little sisters to the movies. When we finished the movie I took them to the mall and got them a few things. We were just about finished when I spotted Jason. He was talking to a few people and he was holding a little girls hand. "Who is that?" Jessie asked. "Who is who?" I looked at her. "That cute guy you were just drooling at." "Shut up." "Tell me." "He's a guy I work with." "Ohh.. And you like him and you wanna ki.." "Wanna go look for lip gloss?" Jessie loves lip gloss and any chance to buy some she'll take it. "Yes!!" "Alright." "I ran out of the strawberry number 5 kind so I need that and I want that blueberry kind." "Yeah, let's go get it." I shook my head and followed her to the store. When we got to the store Jessie went to looking for her lip gloss so I found somewhere to sit. While I was sitting there I gave my youngest sister a pretzel. While she was eating it my mind drifted off. "Jason is cute." I love his accent and his smile. I think me being attracted to him has turned into a full blown crush. Its clear that he doesn't like me though. I guess it doesn't bother me right now, but I hope in the long run he'll like me. Jessie was ready to go so I put the rest of the pretzel away and we headed to the parking lot.

When we got to my truck I locked my youngest sister in then made sure Jessie was fine. I was just about to get in when Jason walked over to me. "Hey." "Hey you." I smiled. "Hi!" The little girl he had with him smiled. "Hi there." "I'm Avery!" "I am Amanda, its nice to meet you." "Nice to meet you too." She smiled an I looked at Jason. "I'm baby sitting." He smiled. "Oh this is your little sister?" "No this is Ryan's little sister." "Oh ok sounds fun hanging out with this cutie." I tickled Avery an she giggled. "Yup, me and Jason had so much fun!" She looked at him "Yeah so funn.." He shook his head an looked away. I just laughed an looked at him. "What are you up to?" He looked at me. "I took my little sisters to the movies and out to get a few things. See." I pointed to the truck an he looked in the window. "Hi!" Sara smiled an waved. "Hey pretty girl." "I like your hat." "You wanna try it on?" "Yes!" He put it threw the window and she put it on. "Look bunny I'm a cowgirl!" I looked at her. "You are so pretty!" "Bunny?" Jason smirked. "Shut up Jason." "Let me hold it." Sara gave Jessie the hat and she put it on. "Amanda look." "I'm looking." Jason started laughing. "I'm stylin' on you." "Yes you are." I shook my head. "I want a hat like this." "No." "You mad cause I'm stylin' on you?" "Give me the hat." "No!" She shook her head an Jason started laughing. I took the hat an she looked at me. "You just mad cause I was stylin' on you." She rolled the window up and he started laughing again. "I'm sorry Jason." I gave him his hat back. "Its alright. What are you doing tonight?" "Probably just hanging out at home." "You could do that or we could find something to do." I knew this wasn't a date so I didn't get pumped about it. "Ok, what time?" "7?" "Alright." "Alright see you later." I got in my truck and Jason walked away. "You got a date." Jessie smiled. "Its not a date, we are just friends." "Oh." I took the girls home and hung out with them until seven.

Jason's POV

Today I was hanging out with Ryan and his little sister Avery. He got called into work so he asked if I could watch Avery until Ian got off. I said yeah so I took her to the arcade in the mall. I let her play till it was time to take her to Ian. When we went out to the parking lot I spotted Amanda. While I was looking in her direction Avery started. "You know her Jase?" "Yeah I work with her." "Ooh you like her?!" "No." "Yes you do! Let's go talk to her." She pulled me over to her. We talked for a little bit then I ended up asking her if she wanted to hang out. Its not a date so I'm hoping she didn't get all dressed up. I just wanted to get to know her as a friend and see what she's like outside of work. When we left I went and hung out with Ian for a while then I went home. It was just about seven so I decided to change and leave. When I got to the diner I went in an seen Amanda was already there. "Hey." I went over and and sat at the table with her. She didn't get all dressed up, she just had on some jeans and a pink aerosmith T-shirt. "Hey! So what are we gonna do?" "My friend has a show tonight." "Sounds good, let's go." "Alright." We went out to the parking lot and I walked her over to her truck. "Ok so I'll follow you." "Or we could ride together." I suggested an she looked at me for a few seconds. "You want me to take my truck all the way home... Why didn't you just say you'll pick me up?" She made a cute pouty face. "Sorry." "Ok so follow me." She got in her truck and I went to mine then we left. After a little drive Amanda pulled into the driveway of a big house.
