The targets were large wooden targets that had for rings. There was an outside, a black painted ring, another black painted ring, a thick red painted ring, and a small white circle in the center. We had to hit the large red ring. I could easily hit three kunai knives in the white, but ten wouldn’t fit there since it was a bit small.
Makoto-sensei told us to go so I pulled out a handful of kunai knives from my weapons pouch. I threw them at the target, definitely trying to act cool for the class, and watched three sink into the white before I grabbed three more and hit the red right next to the white circle. The other four soon followed. I looked to see sensei sighing at me, Rumi, and Kazumi while everyone gawked or glared at us since we had similar looking boards. I gasped and pointed at Rumi.
“How did you get five in the white?!”
“I threw them?” she asked innocently, smiling.
“So not what I meant,” I rolled my eyes. “May I go home now?”
“Sure, is that why you wanted to go first?” Makoto-sensei asked.
“Yes!” I chirped happily. “Father promised to train me today. I will probably pass out again!” I said, grinning.
Sensei sweat-dropped. “That isn’t healthy.”
“It means I trained hard, though,” I said. “Bye sensei!” I called before turning. Kazumi and Rumi caught up to me quickly and hooked arms with me.
“Do you think your father will let us train and spar against you?”
“Probably not, because then you might learn secrets I was already going to tell you.”
“Oh, were you?” a cool voice asked, making me freeze.
I cleared my throat before looking innocently at my father. “Hello fa-“
“They can come and spar with you until dinner time. Go and ask your parents if you may eat with us,” father commanded. I grinned, as did the girls, though Rumi flinched a bit at the ‘parents’ part. We walked and asked Kazumi’s parents before going to the Uchiha compound. I waved to the guards and we walked home to tell mother that they both would be staying over for dinner.
“Your father is by the lake, Nozomi!” mother called.
“Thank you eavesdropper!” I called, racing that way with my best friends at my heels. I came and saw my father staring out over the lake. We walked and patiently stood beside him. “So, father, what training will we be doing?” I asked.
“I want to test your abilities by watching you fight your friends two on one,” he said, not turning to us. I sighed.
“We have to fight on water, don’t we?”
I saw a small smirk grace his face before it disappeared and he turned to us, an eyebrow raised. “I hope that isn’t too much of a problem for eight year olds.”
“Well, we can walk on trees, but water is a first,” Rumi muttered.
“Well, step to it,” he said, giving us a shooing motion.
“I think he just wants to embarrass us,” I sighed before grinning. “Last to accomplish, and you have to actually be able to fight, pays for ramen and/or sweets!” I called.
“AND!” they screamed before rushing out onto the lake and immediately sinking, making me giggle. I focused chakra to the bottom of my feet and gingerly set one on the water, the waves making it weird to stand on. I set my second foot down and had to send more chakra to keep myself afloat. Rumi pulled herself up, grinning.
