Chapter 5: Sea Side Village

Kat woke up to a misty, rainy day.

Lying beside her was Sara who was still asleep. On her other side Emerald was cooking breakfast.

In Emerald's hands she held out a piece of bread and some milk to Kat.

"Where are we?" Kat asked, sitting up.

Git walked into the room sharpening his sword.

"We are in the nearby village that Emerald's foster parents live in." Git said as he blew on his sword. "We moved you while you were asleep."

"Oh" Kat said while munching on the piece of bread that was given to her.

"Morning!" Sara said while she yawned.

"Well now you're up and can move." Emerald said, holding out food to Sara.

"We need to stay here until it stops raining." Rich muttered as he walked into the house soaking wet.
"Why?" Emerald asked.
"Do you see him?" Kat asked.

Looking at Rich soaking wet and shivering Emerald nodded.

"Please, can some of us stay behind?" Sara said, holding her wound.

"Of course." Git said, taking her hand.

Just then a boy the height of Rich walked into the house soaking wet.

"What are you doing here Leon?" Emerald said, narrowing her eyes slightly.

"I came to give you tools." the boy named Leon said, unaware of Emerald's hostile mood, handing out full netherite armor and weapons to everyone. Emerald's eye twitched with annoyance.

"Wow, thanks!" Kat exclaimed, taking enchanted netherite swords and armor.

Emerald sighed grudgingly.

"Impressive" She muttered, not looking up from her unfinished piece of bread and cup of milk.

"You should be impressed! It took me forever to craft all that!" Leon exclaimed.

Emerald shot up and snarled, "Why, we had a whole stash of it over the years when we were 13! Or did you use it all up already?"

Kat realized that they had some issues, she stopped them from going any further.

"Sooooooooo um breakfast was delightful." Kat said awkwardly.

"Git, make sure to bring back food." Sara said.

"I'll go too. I will let you two work things out." Kat said "Besides I need to get my skills back."

"Ok you can come too." Git said waving to Sara and Rich.

Emerald was shooting dagger eyes as the four left.

"Let's check out the other houses." Sara exclaimed excitedly, nugging Kat in the arm.

Rich was a little scared to go 100% alone with Git knowing that Git was like a big brother to Kat who has a crush on him..

"Look!" Kat exclaimed, pointing to an army of soldiers coming closer and closer to the house they were by.

"We need to hide!" Sara whispered, pulling Kat, Git and Rich inside a house swiftly and closing the door firmly.

Meanwhile back at the ranch...

"Sooo.. Where have you been the last 2 years?" Leon asked curiously.

"Well." Emerald growled. "I've been at the Maalamee Woods."

Leon looked taken aback.

"Maalamee Woods?! You could've been hurt! Or even worse, killed!!" Leon nearly shrieked in horror.
