Chapter 7: Powers

After discovering her new powers, Sara decided to start practicing and experimenting.
"On your right!" yelled Kat, throwing a ball of leaves Emerald conjured at Sara.
Sara stopped the ball, but failed to turn it around, like she had hoped to do.
"Ughh" Sara groaned

"You can do this, just focus," Jaya comforted her.
"Ok" Sara breathed in deep through her nose.
I can do this she told herself I can do this
Another leaf ball was hurled at her by Emerald, who was now well enough to do so.

This time when the ball got hurled, Sara successfully caught it with her mind and redirected it towards Emerald.

"Wow!" Emerald exclaimed. "Impressive" she smiled.

"It took me a LONG time to perfect my powers" Jaya gushed, proud of Sara.

"I'm proud of you sis!" Kat announced.
Sara turned slightly red and chuckled.
They went back inside.

"Hey Git! I mastered my telekinesis powers!" Sara squealed excitedly.
Git hugged her proudly, and then kissed her on the top of her head, but he quickly broke away, and intensely blushed a brilliant red.

Emerald chuckled and kissed Leo on the cheek, as if to join in the fun. Kat and Rich just secretly held hands behind them and smiled. Kat leaned her head on Rich's shoulder...

A couple hours passed and Emerald had made a delicious dinner.

"A toast to Sara for mastering telekinesis powers and Emerald for bravely fighting the skeleton!" Kat declared proudly.

"Sara! Emerald!" The gang cheered as they dug into their dinner.

"And a toast to our new friend Jaya!" Emerald added.

"Jaya! Jaya!" The gang shouted once more.
Jaya blushed. "Thank you everyone!" she exclaimed happily.
They all happily ate the baked potato, beetroot stew, and cooked chicken Emerald had made for them.

Originally, Sara was going to cook dinner, but when Emerald heard this she insisted that she made dinner, so the gang reluctantly agreed. But they had Leo help because it was only a week since her accident she had said "I don't NEED help guys! I'm fine" But when she heard Leo was helping she sighed, shook her head and agreed. They all went to bed a few hours later, Emerald and Leo had decided to share a bedroom so Jaya could have a better place to stay. They were all sleeping until they heard a loud screech from Sara.

"A phantom!!" She screeched again. Emerald and Kat tried to get to her but Jaya got there first. The phantom came through a window and was circling her room. Jaya transformed into an eagle and swiped at the phantom until it was dead.

The triplets just stared in surprise as it happened. Leo, Git and Rich finally realized what was happening so Git rushed to Sara's side.

"Are you ok?" Git exclaimed, still in shock.

"A... Phantom" Sara gasped, trying to catch her breath.

"Are you alright?" Emerald and Kat both asked in worry.

"Yeah.." Sara said shakily.

"Come with me Sara.. I'll give you poppy seeds to help you sleep.." Emerald murmured, walking Sara to the den where she had been for a while. Emerald knew every herb in the stock, so that gave the gang an advantage if someone got hurt.

Emerald was up till dawn, caring for Sara who was too scared to go back to sleep, even with the poppy seeds.

It was finally daytime and Emerald was exhausted. She stumbled back to her bedroom and plopped on her bed where Leo was waiting.

"Morning..." Emerald sighed.

"Good morning" Leo responded, stroking her head.

The next morning, Sara and Emerald were at full speed once more. Emerald and Leo were quite giddy that day. Kat and Rich were also getting closer and closer by the day.

The next day while the triplets were on a walk, they found a traveling trader, who told them that their step father had imprisoned 15 more citizens of Malooma.
When they got back and told the others, they were horrified. Especially the Princesses of Malooma.

"We must attack!" Kat announced boldly, looking at each of her sisters in turn.

"In order to attack, all the sisters must agree." Jaya added.

The whole gang nodded in agreement. They gathered in a circle and crouched down.

"Kat?" Jaya prompted.

"Obviously. Yes!" Kat nodded eagerly.

"Sara?" Kat asked, nudging Sara.

"I suppose I'll agree...but we must be cautious" Sara mumbled in uncertainty.
"I agree," said Git in a worried tone.

"Well Emerald?" Kat gazed at her sister.

Emerald hesitated. "I suppose...under one condition." Emerald sighed, inhaling sharply.

"What is it?" Sara asked in concern with a frown.

"I want to lead this expedition." Emerald growled, standing up.

"What? Why?" Kat asked, narrowing her eyes slightly.

"I want the King to see his worst nightmares come true. I want him to know that the daughter he tried to kill, the next leader of Malooma, is still alive and ready to fight for her people's freedom." Emerald snarled, glancing around for any objections.

"Do we all agree?" Sara instructed.

No one objected.

"Good." Kat said, putting on a face of determination.

"We will train very much this week. We leave in a week." Rich instructed.

They all nodded.

"We have to do this" Sara averred
After the meeting, Git pulled Sara aside by a big oak tree.
"Are you sure about this?" he whispered
"Git, we'll be fine" Sara reassured
"I know but what if-"
Sara pulled Git in and hugged him before he could finish.
"Oh" said Git
"What??" said a confused and worried Sara
"It's just, I was hoping for something a little more like this."
Git kissed Sara. She didn't kiss back, but she didn't push away either. When he pulled away, she was shaking like a scared cat. She just stood there in awe, Git grabbing her arms gently.
"You two done over there?" Jaya said from the other side of the tree, clearly unaware of the situation.
"Not quite" Sara yelled back, and she kissed Git back, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Later that day, they all went to train with their weapons. They all learned new things, like Jaya even made camouflage suits for them all to wear.

It had been 5 days since the meeting and Emerald was using her nature abilities to find ores like diamond and lapis to enchant armor and weapons. Kat, Sara, and Emerald agreed that they were all going to the Kingdom of Malooma tomorrow at dawn. It was going to be a days trip, so they packed in advance. They had a bag of weapons and armor, and 7 separate satchels of food and gear for them each.

The next day they set off for Malooma.
