"What? Who is who? What are you talking about?"I asked nervously and he let go a laugh.
"You should hear yourself. " He said laughing and my expression change to a blank one.
"Does the joke comes separately?" I ask annoyed.
Who are you talking about Nolan.
You haven't seen me with Lane.
"Chill out a little bit, Teal." He says ruffling my hair.
Nolan at first glance seems innocent, he has a very pure, funny, and a very big heart for everyone. He's he has light brown hair that cannot point in a fixed direction, light brown eyes that in the light they appear forest green, pale skin, pink lips, slightly dry due to the cold, gray nails, slim and elongated body. He's very calm, he doesn't mess with anyone, but appearances can be deceiving. If you mess with him, he kills in cold blood, he has no mercy, he can be very mean if he doesn't like you, he doesn't care if you have a family, he doesn't care about your feelings. Nolan is someone you want as a friend, but not as your enemy.
"Did you find your mate already or not?" He asks.
Why are you asking me this weird questions?
You have seen him or not?
"If I had I would have already told you." I say looking at him.
"You better tell me." He says.
I will.
But not if it's Lane.
"And you?" I ask.
"Nah. I'll let you know when she decides to show up. I'm not in a rush, you know." He says and I raise an eyebrow.
Not even you believe that Nolan.
"Don't look at me like that!" He cries. "Also, I don't know when someone will take my life from me and I don't want to get too attached to people, just you of course." He says.
They have always told us about the magic of having a mate, but apparently that magic is beginning to disappear. Little do they want to find their mate. War, fear, insecurity, has made this magic gradually fade away from us.
I've never looked for my mate. Not because it has never crossed my mind, it has crossed my mind many times, but the fear of finding him, and losing him has made me lock myself up and not be a priority in my life.
It's not Lane, it's someone else, I'm sure about it.
"A few months ago I was desperate to find my mate, but you know, being with you again makes me think that I really don't have to have a mate to be happy. I do not understand those people who are madly looking for their mates because they think they will be happy. Everyone rushes in and I know it's because there won't be time later, but sometimes I wonder if it's really worth it. We do not know what will become of Indigo in the future, who will win the war and who will lose." He says thoughtfully.
Finding mates every time seems a more difficult task, not only because he or she may be on the other side of the world, but because he or she may already be dead or on the verge of death. Finding mates today is one more worry, a worry that blocks sleep, a worry that makes want to put that person inside a bubble and keep them safe.
We only depend on one weapon and nobody knows if it will hit the target. Living is like taking a poison and waiting patiently for the hour when you will die.
"Sometimes I want to move. Move from Indigo, have peace and quiet, but then I think of you, my other friends, my team. I will not see you again if I leave. One, because surely I wouldn't be able to return here, because she will not allow me. And 2, because I don't know if I will be able to reach my destination without being annihilated in the attempt." He confess.
