HOPE
"I'm not hungry anymore. I'll go to the bathroom." I say covering my ears.
I close the door and put my hands up and hit the sink with my fist. Damn mate mark that is of no use to me other than to make my life impossible.
It's broken and links me to my biggest enemy.
I hate it so much, even my brain goes awry every time he is around. Why do I have to feel this way? Why him and not someone else, or no one? Even Tracy is a better than him.My body... my body is my biggest betrayal, it dares to reveals itself against me, this is bullshit.
I hope one day we will be in the same group.
See ya.
Her voice resonates in my mind, it feels like she is really by my side repeating it.
The tone of her voice so soft, full of calm and confidence, her long white eyelashes trying to hide the yellow color of her tender gaze, and her slightly droppedy eyes. She didn't deserve to die.
My eyes want to fill with tears again but I avoid it by wetting my face with very cold water. I dry my face with a towel Lane gave me, and look at my reflection in the mirror.
My eyes are swollen and puffy, a raw wound lies in my cheekbone, and my eyes are so dry that no more tears can fall. My chest feels like it's about to burst within me, the weight is unbearable. I can't endure this any longer.
You can do this Hope.
You have to win the war Hope.
It's ok Hope, she didn't die in vain.
I throw cold water in my face again, and look at the water falling.
Everything is gonna be alright.
I'm gonna win this war.
I walk out of the bathroom as if nothing had happened.
Lane is sitting on the bed, his circle and the mark on his face are as bright as mine. I would like to do that damn ritual so that my damn mark won't shine for him anymore, but doing that would mean that we would be tied to each other forever, and this time instead of mate marks, another mark on our forearms would appear. The new mark gives the appearance of had being struck by lightning, it can be of any color, and it shines, but not as much as our matte mark, it's light it's dime, but everyone knows you're already linked to your mate.
I had never seen his circles without a fabric to prevent me from detailing it and seeing it clearly, it is the same color as the mark on his face. I wonder if he feels different from the rest, or just ignores the fact that he is different. Why has no one killed him? Because even though he has Rune's mark, an Opal born, he is still an Indigo by nature.
But how? How's he an indigo?
"If you want more food, it's on the table in the corner." he says without taking his eyes off his panel. "I know I shouldn't get involved because it's your life, but it's everything alright?" He asks turning off his panel by passing his hand over his thin bracelet and look at me.
"Yes." say walking towards the bed. "Are you?" I ask as I stop in front of the bed.
"Yes." He answer a bit confused.
"Do you want to put it to the test?" I ask looking at him.
"What do you have in mind?" He asks with a smirk.
"Do you want to know?"I say putting my knees on the bed and he just looks at me curiously with a playful smile on his face.
I climb onto the bed and walk in my knees toward him. I hope this doesn't get out of my control.
