"Y/N," someone whispered, but you could've sworn it was the wind. "Y/N," you heard again. This time aaa you opened your eyes, and almost screamed when you saw Sasha a millimeter from your face.

"Shit, Sash," you whispered, your heart racing, "You scared me." Your face was hot and your cheeks flushed with her sudden proximity. You did not think you'd ever be this close to her, but you were certainly not complaining.

"Sorry," she said quickly, "I'm hungry."

"Okay?" you rubbed your eyes. It had to be one in the morning, "I'd love to help you out, but you ate my entire stash of food last week."

"Can't we just go to the kitchen?" Sasha begged quietly, "It's right there in the mess hall!"

"You want to raid the kitchen?" you asked doubtfully, "We did that this month already..."

"Y/N I'm starving," she repeated as though it was a life-threatening scenario to not have eaten in five hours.

"Okay, okay," you said, yawning. Sasha jumped between her feet quietly as you climbed off your rough mattress and tied your hair up. (or brushed it away from your eyes)

"Let's go," she whispered and grabbed your hand, pulling you toward the door and making your heart skip a beat. You switched your hands from holding each other to intertwining your fingers. Sasha hesitated for a moment, looking back at you, but all she did was smile before dragging your half-asleep ass out the screen door.

You hurried off the porch and toward the mess hall, stopping on the side of the building to make a plan.

"Okay, I'll get a loaf of bread," Sasha explained strategically, "and you run over to the other side of the pantry and get jam. I'll get some fruit."

"Ok then, but don't leave," you agreed, "wait for me to get out too."

"Yeah, if you get the jam before I'm ready to go don't leave without me." Sasha replied, putting her hand on your shoulder seriously.

You knew this was a pantry raid, but because it was Sasha you took it more seriously than your Scout duties. Her hand on your shoulder and her asking for you not to leave without her also helped a little.

You started to ask if she was ready, but she was already on her way up the stairs to the mess hall and on the porch.

You jogged after her, grabbing the doorway and swinging around it to the kitchen, where Sasha was already digging through a basket full of large bread loaves. You hurried through the kitchen to the pantry, where you looked at the back wall to find the jams and jellies. If you remembered correctly, Sasha's favorite jams were grape and strawberry, but there were more grapes than strawberries so you went for the grapes.

When you returned to the main kitchen you saw Sasha reaching for a piece of ham, which was, of course, a rarity. "Sasha," you warned, "we'll get to eat that eventually, let's not steal it from everyone else."
