– Long chapter –
Taehyung woke up with an aching back, the position he slept last night trying to make himself comfortable due to the loss of the warmth that usually hugged him close.
Jungkook.
Taehyung looked on the other side of the bed only to find it empty. Jungkook hadn't come back to their room. Taehyung remembers waiting for him as he kept tossing around on the bed. How his feet stuck as he almost reached to turn the door knob around. It was weird sleeping alone but it was much more weird waking up to an empty bed, without Jungkook's warmth or his breath fanning against his nape or the strong and gentle hand around his waist. Taehyung gulped harshly, trying to ignore the tightness he felt in his chest as he slowly walked towards the door.
Jungkook didn't realize when he fell asleep, nor did he realise how he left his wound open without treating it. He deserved it, for hurting Taehyung time and again.
Taehyung walked towards the kitchen to notice Jungkook sleeping on the floor, a red liquid beside him.
He quickly cleaned up the place beside him, grumbling in worry and frustration at what Jungkook had done. He carefully picked up the glass pieces from the floor discarding them.
Jungkook was always careless, not taking care of himself and hurting himself every now and then.
"Jungkook wake up" Taehyung said as he shook him gently but Jungkook didn't even stir, panicking Taehyung rushed to get the first aid and began treating his wound, making sure to take out the glass pieces gently trying not to hurt himself and Jungkook.
A soft hiss made its way out of Jungkook's mouth when he felt the sting on his palm, opening his eyes slowly, adjusting them to the light that surrounded the apartment.
"Tae," Jungkook said, his voice rough and deep. Taehyung didn't speak a word and instead went on to clean his wound.
"Ouch!" Jungkook expressed when he felt the antiseptic liquid burn against his skin.
"Bear it a little, will you?" Taehyung said, his tone firm as he continued treating it.
Jungkook just lay there on the floor, lost in thought, a little guilty and hurt thinking about how Taehyung was still here, taking care of him when he didn't deserve it. He slowly shifted up, resting his head on Taehyung's lap causing Taehyung to stop from what he was doing. Jungkook just lay there, neither of them saying a word. Taehyung hesitantly petted his head and went back to bandaging his hand.
"It's done," Taehyung said, looking away, wanting to leave.
Things had changed so much between them. They didn't talk much nor did they go on dates, heck they didn't even sit together to watch a movie.
Jungkook took Taehyung's hand and placed it on his head gently. The warmth of each other they felt by the touch made both of them smile a little. Taehyung still didn't look down at Jungkook but nevertheless ran his fingers through his thick locks.
Jungkook loved when Taehyung played with his hair. A calm feeling rushed through their veins as a slight sense of temporary relief took over. Taehyung looked down at Jungkook, this time using both his hands to play with his hair.
"Tae..." Jungkook mumbled opening his eyes
Taehyung hummed in response as he took his time running his eyes over Jungkook's features. It was just one night they hadn't slept together and Taehyung missed him so much. He doesn't want to give in so easily nor let his guard down but with Jungkook it seems impossible.
Especially now when they're looking into each other, it feels so intimate yet normal. The way they hold their gaze reading each other's eyes. Jungkook didn't realize when he reached out his hand behind Taehyung's neck nor did Taehyung, when he began to lean down.
