The inspiration for this story is Kiera Cass' The Selection- a mindblowing romance that'll keep you hooked. Me and my friends devoured her works, the entire series is absolutely thrilling. If you haven't read it already, please do give it a chance to win its way into your heart because trust me (and I've read at least hundreds of stories on Wattpad in the past year itself), that entire series is one of a kind and unmatched. It'll also help you understand my story better an give you an in-depth experience.
This fic is a BTS AU but not so BTS-centric as Est-centric, you'll realise what I mean once you read it. Its a future-fiction, set in the 2300s while the world recovers from the effects of the Third World War waged by China. Although the allies were successful again, the heavy loss incurred makes one question whether it truly was a 'victory' and this story is one of its repercussions.
This can also be considered a Selection AU but without the main characters or the actual selection process, just the same ruthless caste system as well as a monocracy as the system of government.
