deena stopped at that wall, surprised at what she was seeing.
"what an asshole,"
"i don't like sam, but she doesn't deserve this.. hopefully."
"what do i do?"

deena's brain becomes absent from her body as she walks over to zeke. unknown feelings control her arms and legs.

the hotheaded brunette taps on zeke shoulder.

zeke parts his lips from the random chick and turns, "what are you jealous, fag?"

deena bits her lip, "that's not sam," deena watches her own arm being thrown from her side and meeting zeke's right eye.

zeke plunders to the wooden floor at the unexpected punch.

"what the hell is wrong with, you fucking freak!"

deena moves away through the crowd to find simon.

deena is searching through the crowd when a familiar face spills their drink on her.

"simon, what the hell?" she complains as her flannel is stained.

deena grabs simon's arm leading him to the front door, "let's go big boy,"

"deenaa, no i want to stayy." simon slurs his words, clearly wasted.

she grabs his arm and throws it over her shoulder and grabs simon's side. opening the car door, simon hacks up all he had to drink on deena's shirt.

"god damn it," deena hits her hand off her car throws her head back, bitting her lip.

deena disregards the vomit for now and buckles simon. once she gets into the car she turns on the radio.

she knows she can't just send simon home completely wasted, she just makes one stop at her house. leaving her side of the old vehicle she goes around to simon, helping him inside.

deena makes simon a place to sleep on the floor, laying out a large blanket and a few pillows.

before bringing simon in her room, she throws on a change of clothes and goes to wash the vomit-stained ones.

walking out into the living room she sees simon laughing at the tv with her brother, josh.

"hey, thanks for keeping him entertained,"

"yeah," josh smiled as he shuts off the tv and walks to his bedroom.

deena lifts simons shoulder, guiding him to her room. "come on, time for bed."

after laying simon down she face plants into her bed, remembering all about zeke macking on that other girl. she knows she'll have to tell sam, which she's totally enthusiastic about another sam fraser encounter.

deena writes off the thought for morning and shuts her tired eyes.

sam's alarm clock starting ringing as she slams her hand on the top of it, rustling in her blankets.

she rips off her covers, resentfully getting up for the day.

sam hears a knock downstairs, but before she could open her bedroom door her mother answers it.

she hears a strangely familiar voice and runs to her bedroom window to see who was at the door, "deena?" she says stunned.

deena walks up to sam's two story blue suburban, slightly run down. she knocks on her door, expecting sam to answer. to her surprise it's a shorter brown haired woman, she was in a pantsuit and shiny shoes.

"you here to see sam?" the woman asks while taking a drink of her wine.

"uh, yes ma'am. i'm her friend from school, i just have a few questions to ask her about a project." deena throws a smile at her.

"yeah just upstairs," the woman stumbles out of deena's way as she makes her way into the house.

deena knows a drunk when she sees one, maybe sam's life wasn't the greatest.

deena taps on one of the three doors upstairs, hoping it was sam's room.

sam opens up the door, surprised to see deena standing in her house.

"uh, hey.. wanna come in?" sam asks meeting deena's eyes.

"sure, i'll just be a second." deena walks in her room with her hands in her pockets.

deena is shocked, when she looks around sam's room. the band posters of nirvana, radiohead and the pixies. she slightly smiles at her music choice.

"wow you like these guys?" deena asks pointing to her wall.

"yeah, you don't?" sam wonders, crossing her arms.

"no i totally do, i'm just taken back by the fact you do." deena walks around her room touching her records and book shelf.

"this might be hard to believe but there's more to sam fraser than being a blonde cheerleader." sam throws a fake smile, but it's different this time. the smile isn't fueled by anger or attitude.

"oh yeah i came to tell you something, it's not the easiest thing to hear." deena moves towards sam.

sam stands there intrigued by what deena has to tell her.

"so that party that i went to, zeke was totally kissing another girl." deena blurts, she doesn't feel good about delivering this news. she thought she would be happy to crush sam.

"yeah i know," sam says unfolding her arms.

"what?" deena raises her eyebrow.

"yeah, i'm plenty aware, someone already called. but it's not like i care, i'm only with him so i'm not totally shit on as the new girl." sam walks over and sits on her bed.

"wait, wait you don't even care?" deena says moving closer.

"no, not at all. i never liked him, he's a total dick."

"that's still shitty, though."

"deena, it's fine really. we weren't even dating, we just had a thing over the summer."

"right well, i just wanted to tell you."

"i appreciate that," sam gave her an actual smile.

"alright, school starts soon. i better get out of here," deena reaches for sam's bedroom door.

"deena hold on."
