sheriff wipes his mouth at the disturbing sight. still tearing away at the door he whispers to himself. "holy shit."

he rips open the door and takes a knee by sam. he begins untwisting her cloth gag and the rope that was digging into her wrists. she was left there shirtless and mentally shattered. the bruises left all over sam became more apparent to sheriff goode.

he ran back to his vehicle to get a blanket. while the sheriff makes his way back into the shed he sees the couple being questioned. goode hands the blanket to sam. "here, cover up with that. do you need water, anything?"

sam sits in shock, she looks as pale as a ghost. she couldn't believe she was found. one thought crossed her mind, deena. "water, please." her voice sounded scratchy and worn. she tightened the blanket surrounding her abdomen.

sheriff goode whips around to yell for a bottle of water.

"sheriff," sam struggles to get out.

"yes, samantha?" he turns again, waiting for the water.

"please get deena johnson here, please tell her i'm safe." she coughs.

"as you wish, samantha. i'll be right back here in a minute." the sheriff and his loud keys jingle away from the shed.

music with somber tone plays at a low volume. deena lays in her bed with blankets over her head. she's already come to that horrible conclusion and hasn't done a thing since.

she replays the night of sam's disappearance, maybe  she wonders if she should have stayed with sam. nothing would have have harmed sam, it felt like her own fault.

ringing interrupts deena's music. she relentlessly leaves her spot on her bed, leaving a mark from where she was laying. annoyance is her only reaction, having to leave her room.

he grips the handle loosely, "hello?" she speaks into the phone with a depressive sigh.

"deena johnson?" a deep voice replies.

"this is her,"

"sheriff goode here-"

"listen, i really don't want to hear anything right now. my girlfriend is completely gone, there's nothing your department can do about it anymore." deena cuts off the man.

"deena, we found her." the sheriff finally finishes his sentence.

the mixture of thankfulness and utter shock fill deena's brain. "oh, oh my god. where is she? can i see her? is she there now, can i talk to her?"

"she needs to go home tonight, but she's requested you come see her. we are all located at the wooded clearing right outside the shadyside lines." goode has a hint of joy in his voice, happy for deena.

"sheriff, sir. she doesn't exactly have a home currently, she stays with me." deena bites at her lip.

"understood, she'll need a change of clothes. goodbye miss johnson."

the phone cuts out.

"josh, they found sam! oh my god. oh my fucking god." deena whips through her dresser finding sam an outfit. she doesn't bother doing anything else before getting to her car.

the ragged car ends it's route. jumping out of the drivers seat is deena she notices the red and blue lights and begins running towards them.

she observes the jank shed for a moment before walking in. on the floor are tools and wood planks, all spread around.

she looks above her feet to sam, talking to the sheriff.

"oh god, sam." she runs to her holding her face and touching her forehead to hers. "i thought you were gone," she cries.

"it's over now, i'm okay." sam says lowly.

"i just cant believe it." deena frantically hugs her, kissing her face all over. she missed her, missed her face and her feel, her smell, her voice, everything sam. "can i get her home, tonight?" deena looks to goode.

"sure, i'll have an officer by your house for the night. bring her in for her testimony tomorrow, please." the sheriff slides his hair back with his hand.

"yes, sheriff. thank you, really. i can't imagine my state if you never found sam." deena scrunches her nose, sniffling.

"i didn't do it alone, a family found this shed originally. thank them." he suggests.

deena says nothing, just nods and takes sam's hand.
she leads sam to her car and opens the door for the scared girl. "can you buckle, i don't mind helping?" deena asks.

sam nods and grabs the seatbelt, clicking it into place.

deena gets into the drivers seat, she just looks at sam before starting the vehicle. sam's stare remains out the windshield, her still being in shock.

"i can go pick you up food, anything you want. sam?"

"please deena," sam replies with slight annoyance.

"sorry, you probably just want to sleep." deena jams the keys into the ignition and drives along. she places her hand on top of sam's along with occasional glances towards her girlfriend's direction the entire way home.

deena folds down her top sheet and comforter, making a spot for sam to rest. she grabs the clothes she picked earlier and hands them to the blonde standing sedate in the corner.

"here, i can go." her voice breaks a bit and she reaches for her handle to leave the room, letting sam change. she waits outside the room for sam to finish.

"you can come back now." sam tells her.

the door opens and deena walks back in to her space.

sam goes to sit in the bed, sliding underneath the blankets. deena takes to her side and sucks in a breath. "um, i'll sleep on the couch tonight. you probably need your space, i'm guessing." she suggests, not wanting to piss of a reasonably contemptible sam.

sam quickly hugs her, grasping her hair softly. "stay, i need you here."

deena confirms with her eyes, she lifts the sheets getting comfortable next to sam. she lifts her hand to the side of the blue eyed girl's head, taking tussles of her hair and feeling them between her fingers. they found her, they found sam.

deena was never going to let her go, not ever.
