deena closes her bedroom door softly, trying not to wake sam.
sam perks her head up and turns around.
"oh, sorry if i woke you up."
"you didn't," sam grumbled.
deena walks over sitting by sam, she places her hand on her leg and moves it up and down. "do you need space?" she stammers. "i can go,"
sam raises her eyes up to deena. "i've told you countless times, i want you to stay. you'll know when i need space." she jokes.
deena takes a good moment to look at sam.
"what?" sam demands.
"you're so brave. i have no idea how you can smile after what happened. i admire it, truly."
sam touches deena's soft cheek, giving her a red expression. "you're sweet,"
"eh, i can be." deena slips her hand into her pocket and pulls out a folded paper. "you can be sweet, too."
"you read it?"
"affirmative, captain." deena salutes.
"dork."
"i'm your dork, fraser."
sams gloomy expression wasn't the one deena thought she would get in return. "hey. what can i do?" deena rubs her leg.
"i just," sam laments "i can't get this shit out my head, it's driving me insane. well, not insane. just, plummets me into this state of.. i don't know."
"if i could take all this pain out of your life i would, believe me-" deena begins to ramble.
"i know, i know. this isn't your pain to deal with, deena. please don't put this on yourself, i can take care of it."
"i hate to say this, sam. but, you cant tell me what to do," deena teases. "sorry, but i am going to walk with you every, single step of the way. i'm not giving up on you, sam. we all experience hurt, it's what make us, us." she reassures.
deena bites her lip looking around the room, she's trying to hold back something.
"what is it?" sam questions.
"i forgot you have to go for questioning today, i just want to know if you're ready." she worries.
"i'm ready, i can't just bask in these thoughts and dwell on these things forever." sam sits up, resting her back on the headrest.
"i'll get the car started," deena gets up and heads for the door. "hey sam,"
"uh huh?" sam replies trying to get her shoes on.
"i.. well, i will just be waiting outside." deena closes it, and takes a few steps away from the door. "damn it." she whispers.

the sheriff clicks the tape and begins, "this is sheriff nick goode, with samantha fraser. date : october 20th, 1993. samantha, start off by telling me about the night you were taken, who was involved, any details you remember."sam swallows a knot in her throat. "it was after shadyside shindig." the blonde stutters. "after the game i went to go change in the locker room, my girlfriend was waiting out in the car. uhm, i was getting changed and then zeke parr, my ex boyfriend." sam pauses.
the sheriff clears his throat. "continue, please."
"he was trying to talk to me, i was already so freaked out. i tried to get away from him, which resulted in zeke knocking me unconscious."
"is that all you remember from that night, samantha."
"yes, sir."
"does that mean you woke up next morning?"
"yes."
"where were you located when you regained consciousness?" he writes down the notes. "do you remember that?"
"i woke up in the shed, the sun had already risen."
"was zeke still there, or had he left?"
"no, he was still there, along with someone else."
"who might that be?"
"eve, i cant remember her last name. she's deena's ex girlfriend." sam points her eyes up, trying to remember.
"what could their motive be, did they say anything that could point to why they took you?"
"eve said she they wanted to see deena suffer." she lowers her voice.
"them? as in her and zeke?"goode points out.
"yes, both."
"thank you, samantha. just a few more questions, hope that's alright."
the brave girl nods her head before answering his questions that made her reminisce her experiences.
she plays the lonely nights vividly in her head. the nights she never knew whether or not she would ever come home. the grueling looks she would gaze at the pair that took her away, took her away from everything.
