JOHANNA and Lilith were still in the water. Lilith was floating on her back while Johanna cleaned her ax from the blood. Katniss was next to them helping Wiress wash the blood out of her hair and she looked at them, "What does Beetee have there?"

"The coil? It's some kind of wire." Johanna answered.

"Did he get it from the cornucopia?"

"Took a knife in the back to get it," Johanna replied.

Wiress gasped causing Lilith's eyes to snap open and take a survey of her surroundings, "Tick tock! Tick tock!"

"All right. I can't," Johanna shook her head and waded out of the water, "Just have fun with Nuts." Lilith chuckled and followed after her. In the distance, something powered up before the large tree was struck once again with lightning.

Wiress said something to Katniss and she started muttering looking around.

"Guys swim to the cornucopia!" Katniss shouted. Lilith groaned and Finnick nudged her. They swam towards it and Lilith hopped up on the rocks and started to walk to the cornucopia.

"This entire arena seems to be laid out like a clock," Katniss informed, "With a new threat every hour, but they stay only within their wedge. It all starts with the lightning. Then the blood rain, fog, monkeys. That's the first four hours. At 10:00 that big wave hits from over there."

"Wiress, you're a genius," Finnick commented. They stood on the rocks surrounding the cornucopia.

"Look the tail points to 12," Peeta pointed out.

"That's where the lightning strikes at noon and midnight," Katniss said.

"Strikes where?" Beetee asked.

"That big tree," Katniss pointed to it.

Wiress started singing behind Lilith and Finnick, "Hickory Dickory Dock. The mouse ran up the clock. The clock struck one the mouse ran down. Hickory Dickory Dock." She continued to recite the rhyme as the rest gathered around.

Peeta drew a circle in the black sand, "So 12:00 to 1:00 lightning. Then 1:00 to 2:00 is blood. Then fog. And then monkeys."

Lilith could hear the woman's crazy muttering from her place as Katniss spoke, "Then 10:00 to 11:00 the wave. What about everything else. Did you guys see anything?"

"Nothing but blood," Jackson replied.

"It doesn't matter. As long as we steer clear of whichever sector is active, we'll be safe," Peeta said.

"Yeah. Relatively speaking," Finnick nodded.

Wiress gasped and they all looked up. Gloss took a knife out of her neck and a canon fired. Lilith whipped a knife at him hitting him in the throat. Cashmere ran at her and Johanna shoved her out of the way and hit the girl with her ax.

"Thanks."

"No problem."

Yelling came from the other side of the cornucopia and Finnick and Jackson fought with the pair from District 2. Katniss fired an arrow at the male and Lilith and Johanna walked over the rocks as she followed him.

The cornucopia rumbled and started spinning causing them to fall. Lilith gripped the rocks as it started spinning rapidly. Katniss slipped and Johanna and Lilith reached for her. Johanna dug her ax into the rocks as they strained to hold her.

Lilith's fingers slipped from the rocks and she was flung into the water. She struggled to get above the water as it filled her lungs. Her vision went blurry and everything went dark.

Lilith could feel herself sinking farther into the abyss, but she lacked the strength to open her eyes or swim. She felt herself being dragged from the water and heard muffled voices above her. As her body became heavier, she felt a sense of tranquility wash over her. She felt the drive to keep alive fade away, and she was overcome with the want to be at peace.

She appeared to be having an out-of-body experience, and the group gathered around her lifeless corpse, was her. Finnick was anxiously attempting to get her to breathe while Jackson was crying. Johanna sat on the ground, Lilith's head in her lap, pleading with her to wake up.

She felt bad for wanting to die after seeing the group in such a vulnerable state. To make them suffer the agony of her death. Nothing, though, seemed better than fading away. She felt a tugging at her heart as Finnick pleaded for her. She was no longer willing to die. She just wanted to be happy with Finnick, Johanna, and her brother. She felt as if her time was running out and that if she battled hard enough, she might be able to live.

She pushed harder for herself after hearing the canon go off, and a blinding light flashed before her eyes, and she was heaving herself up and coughing up water, "I think I swallowed a seahorse."

"Oh my God, you're alive," Finnick hugged her as tears ran down his face, "You were dead. The cannon went off."

"It's okay, baby. I'm fine," Lilith stroked his hair soothingly.

"And I'm the cockroach," Jackson laughed.

"You are. Who knew you could cry," Lilith looked up at him still in Finnick's embrace.

"Well my only living relative just died so yeah."

"Aww, you love me."

"Shut up. We will never speak of this again. Ever," Jackson said.

Lilith smiled at Finnick as she kissed him . Jackson groaned, "Ok. We get it, you're in love. But don't be in love in front of me." Lilith pulled away and glared at him.

"And you don't be in love with Johanna in front of me. Now we're even. Help me up," Jackson grabbed her hand and helped her stand.

"I can't believe you're alive," Johanna hugged her.

"It's okay Jo. Let's just get what we need and get off the bloody island." They swam to the shore and sat on the beach.
