CW:THIS CHAPTER INVOLVES MENTIONS OF EATING PROBLEMS AND ABUSE ⚠️⛔️
You walk into dance class with Denki, Sero, and Kiri right behind you. All day they'd been trying to make conversation but you either gave one word answers, hummed, or completely ignored them all together. "Y/n dude! Why won't you talk to us?" Denki asks. You ignore him and wipe your freed eye under your shades. Kiri places a hand on your shoulder. "Hey, y'know you're kinda little for a dude. Not that its a bad thing! Just an observation." You lift his hand and take his other one, putting them together and walking away.
The teacher starts class. "Good Afternoon class! I'm sure you know by now that Y/n will be helping you all practice the routine so you can retake your dance exam! Except this time, its live." Kat grumbles. "Tch. Until today no one noticed the guy. How was he the only one who passed?" The teacher glances at you, noticing the 'he'. "Y/n did very well. No mistakes. So take the help Bakugou." Kat huffs but stays quiet.
"You may all break off to try to start learning the routine." The teacher says, letting you all spread out. You stay sitting in the corner alone until about half of them approach you. "So. Could you help us?" Ochaco asks. You stand up. "Try to use the instruction video." Kiri rubs his neck. "Thats what we did the first time, remember?" You sigh. "Just focus on your body movements. Monkey see, Monkey do." Kat scoffs. "I knew this guy couldn't teach us anything." You ignore him. "Just put in effort." you say.
Denki thinks of something. "Y'know I thought your voice was like that because you were tired but it still sounds weird." Jirou jabs him. "Sparky! Stop insulting his voice." "Wha? I'm not!" You stare at them. "So Y/n whats your quirk?" Mina asks to switch topics. You stare at her too. "Why?" She rubs her neck. "I um— Just wondering."
You push up the shades and go back to ignoring them. Sero gets your attention. "Hey um so. Where we goin after school?" he asks. You don't look up from your phone. "Uh.. just the library." He nods. "Cool. Cool. So uh.. uh." It was awkward. You walk away to a less crowded corner. "He isn't cracking!" Denki complains. "Maybe if you stopped insulting him?" Mina says. "I'm not insulting him! His voice is just different.." Denki says, defensive. In the corner, you felt a bit light-headed.
Heres what I didn't tell you. You have a complicated relationship with food. Not exactly an eating disorder, at least as far as you know. You struggle to feed yourself on the regular, and when you do eat, you have to slowly. After you found out you'd been kidnapped, the villains started to neglect you and treat you worse, physically and mentally, claiming they were upset that you 'betrayed the family' every time you tried to escape.
They belittled you and they'd starve you for days and then when you were fed, it'd be nothing more than bread and water. They'd even put their hands on you several times, again because they were hurt about you 'betraying the family'. Dabi was probably who hurt you the most, him also being the most possessive. After being rescued, you continued with this diet because you were used to it and a lot of time just felt disgusted by eating. That came from the belittling they did. Anyways, this cycle resulted in you passing out a lot or feeling dizzy. Usually, you'd drink water or chew gum to keep you stable. But Mirio, Tamaki, Nejire, Mic and Aizawa, as well as other people that know you, make sure you have some type of food and try their best to make you comfortable eating.
It sometimes takes a lot of effort, but the thought of not being a burden can keep you on top of it, even if that means you eat small things.
Other times, you would completely pig out. Times like these would make you feel guilty sometimes and, on occasion, lead to purging.Back to you in the corner. •Wheres my water?• you think, rubbing your eyes and looking around. You reach around on the floor for it until you find it and drink some. The teacher comes over after seeing you. "Y/n are you alright?" You keep your eyes shut and lean your head against the wall. "Mhm. I'm okay." She wasn't completely sure. "Are you sure? You know you aren't supposed to wear sweats to this class. Maybe thats why you don't seem to be feeling well?" she questions. You shake your head. "I haven't been moving around. I'm alright." She hums. "Hm.. I can call your fathers if you'd like." You open your eyes for a second. "No Miss J. Don't call either of them. I'm okay. Just a little dehydrated." She nods. "Oh okay. Let me know if you need anything. By the way, make sure you tell the class that they'll be doing a different routine." You raise a brow. "What? Which?" "The one from the halftime show that I had you learn not too long ago." You nod. "I'm assuming its a boys vs girls thing?" She nods. "Yes! But try to spice up the boys' part as well because their choreo doesn't match up to the girls'." You nod again. "Okay. I'll let them know." She goes away and leaves you in peace.
Tsu approaches you alone. You sense her presence, even with your eyes closed. "Yes Asui?" "Please just call me Tsu." You sigh. "Fine. Only because thats what almost everyone calls you." She nods. "Right.. So um. Could you help me get this move right?" You open your eyes. "Oh don't worry about it. Miss J told me that theres a different routine that I'll have to teach you all so don't bother learning the old one." She nods. "Oh okay. Is it still a live thing?" You nod but don't speak.
You see her glance behind herself and knew that the rest of the class would likely be coming to bother you again.
