Jungkook's eyes meet with those of the young, pale man in from of him. The sharp, small, feline, and lowkey intimidating ones he is very much acquainted to.
The other male seems just as startled, widened irises, half covered bangs, peering up at him from under a black bucket hat. Like a dear caught in headlight.
He shakes his head with a dry chuckle.
"It's you, of course."
"Don't look very pleased to see me huh?"
Yoongi's head tilts at Jungkook's comment. As if he wasn't surprised himself, the kid dares to act sassy even.
"I'm neutral."
"I get it. No one likes bumping into their teachers in places like these."
Yoongi speaks honestly. It's not the first time he's encountered a student outside the school premises. It's a rather frequent occurrence. Pretty much most of them have the same reaction to seeing him - Yeeting the fuck away from there as soon as possible without being seen.
But with Jungkook, he can't say. He's so alike yet so different from the other students of their school. He's one of the few, who Yoongi really notices, whom he has varying opinions and feelings about that he can't exactly figure out.
"Nah I don't mind you one bit. I'm just here to eat."
The words suddenly come from Jungkook. As if he simply could read Yoongi's mind.
"Y-yeah right."
Yoongi backs off unconsciously, letting Jungkook step ahead and make his order first. He always felt this sort of responsibility towards the younger, apart from his academic wellfare.
Jungkook notices him shallowly, gets a brief thought but lets it go unspoken as he registers at the order counter again.
"Two black forest pastries."
Two?
Yoongi's eyes snap at him for instance. Why is Jungkook ordering two of them? He could be optimistic and let his mind linger for a better point of view but then, it's Jungkook he's talking of after all. The boy must be starving right now.
Instead it does that way.
Because when Jungkook moves away from in front, though he doesn't spare a glance at Yoongi, he very well voices that, "I ordered for you." Quite low in his murmur, yet audible enough for the teacher to listen.
Yoongi's instant response is to turn to face with Jungkook's back walking off towards a table. He watches him settle down on a seat, placing both the plates of pastries on the tabletop, one for himself, the second on the opposite side.
Indeed it did astonish him in the bit, whatever facade Jungkook loves to show off to the world, is he letting it down for him? No no, that must be his way of mocking Yoongi with his high wealth and profile.
A wave of possibilities hit inside Yoongi's brain. A wonder at how Jungkook is such an open book, yet so unpredictable and incomprehensible at times.
Yoongi's feet shift from his place only when Jungkook finally looks upto him for not coming over, and at that moment his eyes look just so pure, innocent even. Like he could never have any evil intention towards anyone. And no one could ever say no to that face, then who is Yoongi?
The noise of a chair dragging to pull back disturbs the peaceful ambience as Yoongi seats himself on the soft surface, taking in the interior of the place.
It's small - the pastry shop, but possesses comfy and warm environment. Decorated with pretty pastel colours from the floor rug to the tiles on the walls, it appears straight out of a fairytale.
