Okay, no pressure. It's just a huge YouTube personality asking for examples of my editing to possibly get a good paying job for the first time in my life.
Should I send them?
I mean the worst he can say is no, right? But he could also start making fun of it...
I shake my head, taking a small breath before linking him to some of my newer projects for the type of work he was looking for.
I'd been lucky enough to help out a small YouTuber or two off of Fiverr.
It's no shock that those videos were the most fun to work on, considering it was YouTubers that I wanted to edit for instead of random families and their home-videos.
I see the 'read' symbol and stare at the chat, waiting until the three small dots pop up meaning he's replying.
My foot bounces in anticipation, waiting for the mans response to my work. Even if he hadn't gotten enough time to view them all closely.
I'm gonna take more time to watch them but what I saw was good!
I'll get back to you soon, k?
I look at the messages and my heart drops. He totally just said I wasn't good enough without saying I wasn't good enough, didn't he...
Well... at the very least I was relieved things were okay between us, and I could continue on with my day without constant worry.
Okay thanks
With that, I set my phone down, leaning back on the couch with a small laugh.
I probably looked crazy, chuckling to myself in the empty apartment; but it's not like anyone could see.
I was good at taking rejection, just not everything that led up to it. Like presentations and interviews. Hence why I didn't have a normal job.
"Alright, what a way to start my day off," I mumble, getting up from the couch so I can go grab some breakfast and find things to do around the house.
It was boring being alone, but at the same time I had privacy, which was nicer than any roommate.
Well, except for f/n. If they weren't already in a relationship, I'd love to have them as a roommate, but the feeling of being a third wheel only made my anxiety act up.

After breakfast I headed over to my computer, the expensive piece of machinery sitting atop a wooden desk inside my bedroom.
"Work time, work time, let's do some work~" I sing out the words while starting up the electronic, looking at a small list I kept of jobs people had ordered from me.
"Family reunion... graduation video... looks like there isn't anything out of the ordinary as far as work goes," I mumble, forgetting just how basic my life really is, and things like messaging famous people isn't basic.
I've gotta get it done though, whether I like it or not. Money is money, and a job is a job.
With that, I start to do what I do every day, but the more I add and take away from videos, the more Dreams messages ring in my mind.
Is my editing worse than I think it is? He didn't seem pleased with the jobs I liked most. I mean, come on, that message might not have had a voice, but it was obviously forced.
I lean back in my chair, looking at the family reunion, kids and adults running around happily.
There weren't added effects or anything, but I was taking out useless bits and glitchy footage, per the request of my customer.
It was boring...
With a groan I grab my phone, looking at the Instagram conversation shared between me and Dream one more time before clicking on a familiar contact.
I listen to the ring for a few seconds, eventually hearing someone pick up on the other end. "Hello?"
"Hey Mom, I was wondering if I could come out and see you guys for summer?" An escape from work and all things editing will surely do me some good right now. Right?
I haven't taken a real break in over a year, and it can't be good for me to do so much without actual rest.
Besides, I was just rejected from a probably once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I'm in mourning. And when you mourn, you run away to your mothers summer house in Orlando and visit Disney World.
Well, I'll go to Disney World if I have my parents or a friend. No way in hell will I got to such a public place without someone to distract me so I don't feel like people are watching my every move.
"Why? Is something wrong?" Her voice is laced in concern and I felt bad for asking a random favor out of nowhere.
"No, I just need a break from work. Besides, I haven't seen you or Dad in a few years. We only ever talk over call."
"Well of course, you're always welcome."
