I'd finally gotten a chance to sit outside by the pool, and believe me, I was relishing it.

The sun was hot, and my feet were kicking around in the clean crystal-clear water to keep chilled.

Everything needed, like my cellphone and a bottle of water, were beside me, resting with a beach towel; out of sight out of mind as some say.

Though when a ding reached my ears I didn't hesitate to grab the electronic, a little too excited to see who was reaching out.

Thanks for the help yesterday

I smile; reading the message to see Dreams account. I've been waiting for another text, hoping that the man will give me an editing position on his channel.

Don't mention it

Did you need anything?

I play it cool, feeling a lot more comfortable with texting him now that I'd done it a few times. Though it'll still be a while till I act like myself instead of some boring and overly-proper person.

Well no

I kinda just wanted to talk

...Oh no.

I stop what I'm doing, hand tensing around the phone. He wants to— talk? Like normal people?

I can't do that. Not yet at least. Not when I've only known the guy for a few days. We can talk about editing and job opportunities, because no one can judge me for wanting a job.

But people could judge me for who I am, and that's my biggest cause of anxiety.

Talk?

Yeah like what's your name and age

That ice breaker type beat

I mean if I'm gonna hire you as an editor I sorta need to know this stuff...

His explanation makes my face brighten, temporarily forgetting about the growing pit in my stomach. Hire? Is he rethinking it? If I can get through this one conversation, will I get the job?

So you're thinking about hiring me?

Well yeah

I said I would get around to watching the vids and I liked them

I smile, suddenly giddy at the thought of finally having a well-paying job.

Okay then my names y/n l/n and I'm twenty years old

Is that good?

I'm quick to answer with the things Dream wanted to know, hoping he'll hire me right now. I don't wanna wait any longer, it's too nerve wracking.

That was fast

Well then I guess I have no choice but to break the news...

YOU'RE HIRED!!

A squeal escapes my mouth and I stand up from the pool quickly, looking the words over in excitement.

I did it. I got a job! Like a real job, not some cheap stuff off Fiverr. This was definitely a new chapter for my life. A new expensive chapter.

Thank you!!

I'm glad to be working with you!

Of course!

We can discuss pay and all of that whenever it's a good time for you :)

It only takes a few seconds and I'm already on the phone screaming with f/n; b/n on my ass about being loud enough that the neighbors can hear.

Too bad not even he can ruin my mood right now. I just got hired as the editor of Dream; and that's a huge achievement!

"I know! It was hard at the beginning with my anxiety, and I still get a little nervous, but everything worked out okay!"

"I'm so proud! Can I get those burritos now?"

I talk a little longer with f/n before hanging up, the smile still etched into my face. Though I have no idea what to do.

Maybe go out for some celebratory dinner? I mean if my family comes with me it's really no problem.

I just won't talk to anyone.

"Hey, Mom!" I walk back into the house after drying off with my towel, seeing the woman I was searching for in the kitchen.

"Yeah? What's up?" She turns to look at me with a smile, taking a break from the dishes.

"Can we go out for dinner today? I just got a huge editing deal with a type of celebrity and I sorta wanna celebrate..."

If she says no, I'll just have to find the nearest store with a self-checkout and buy a small cake with some candles.

Either way, I'm celebrating with something tonight, and not even my anxiety can stop me.

"Of course! Thats great news! Where do you wanna go? All the restaurants around her are nice enough for a work celebration."

I think for a moment on where to go, and my childhood favorite comes to mind quickly. "Morimoto Asia."

It was a good place to eat in Downtown Disney, and their food was something I'd only ever had once or twice.

"Alright then, Morimoto Asia it is. Boys! Get your asses over here, we're going out for dinner in twenty! Look nice!"

Moms yelling makes me cover my ears as I laugh, knowing how aggressive she got with those two compared to me.

Celebration meal is officially a go.
