I keep forgetting how lavish everywhere Adam goes is.

The restaurant was one from a movie. With the luxurious décor and incredible service. You know, the kind where you order a 100$ plate and get a grape and some leaves.

But I'm not paying, so I'm not complaining.

When Adam uttered his name, everyone went into a frenzy trying to get him the best seats. The waitress was eyeing him openly, basically flirting with him.

"What would you like us to start you with, Adam?" She drawled his name, basically whispered it in his ear. She also pretended I did not exist.

I almost couldn't contain my joy when he said "Mr Rich." Not even looking at her, still looking at me.

I don't even know why I was happy.

"Oh come on, we know each other better than that." She just could not get the hint.

But what does that even mean?

Did he date her? Take her out? Worse?

I tried not to overthink when I saw him raise his hand, gesture to another waiter, and said "you, you're serving us now."

"Yes, sir," the man simply said, and blondie looked offended as she was basically kicked out from Adam's table.

Adam started ordering for himself, before looking at me again. "What would you like, darling?" He said clearly for people around us to hear.

"Umm.." I refused to admit that I didn't know what most of these names meant, "Im perfectly happy with whatever you choose for me. You know how much I love your taste." I smirked, looking at him intently, countering his own attitude.

He cleared his throat, and ordered once more, his voice lower now.

"Did I do good?" I asked, after the waiter was gone.

"What?"

"The act, Adam. Do you think the people here will believe it?"

"Oh. Yeah. You did well." He answered, finding his cup of water suddenly very interesting.

I huffed. That guy and his mood swings.

Dinner went without a bang, we ate, a lot of his family friends came over to say hi. He introduced me as his fiancée-to-be. It was all very weird. And yet, not as repulsing as I thought it would be.

Until I noticed something.

When I raised my head from my plate once, I found him looking behind me and smiling. Stifling a laugh, actually. I resisted the urge to look directly behind me, and pretended to be getting something from my purse to sneak a glance.

What I saw did not exactly make me well.

She was absolutely gorgeous. With golden fair skin and brown eyes. She looked like art. Her headscarf draped across her hair in such a beautiful way, and she was smiling at him. Pearls lined up in such a way that belonged on the big screen.

And Adam was smiling back at her.

When she saw me looking, she immediately raised a book she was holding to cover her face. Hiding herself from view, but it was too late.

"I want to go home." I uttered suddenly.

Adam looked at me weirdly, his smile gone. "Okay." He simply said, not bothering to ask what's wrong.

Not like I cared.

"I need to go to the restroom first, give me a minute." I got up abruptly and made my way there.
