The walk home was eerily and uncomfortably silent, with the Valenzuela skyline hovering over us. Unti-unti na rin nabubuhay ang night lights, senyales that the night shifts were about to begin.
His face no longer held the intensity gaya ng kanina, only extruding a calm canvas. His lashes were perfectly long and curled, eyes so expressive, chiseled nose, and damn kissable lips.
ay tangina, am I checking him out?
Huy Kia!' a flick in the forehead dragged me away from my thoughts and into staring at his eyes again. I pretended indifference regardless of my heart pounding like crazy. Taena bat kasi ganto.
"Osiya, dito na ako't baka di ka pa makasakay ng jeep." I turned to leave, expecting him to hold me back or something.
pero siyempre reality to, cause I felt his steps retreating and fading into the busy road.

"Kia, iha kain na." Tawag ni tita astrid sa akin, but I was too tired so I politely declined and went up to my room.
For the three years na naging magkaibigan kami I never saw him as someone so serious, moreover to talk about love. Sinasabi niya naman sa akin yung about sa adventures niya on girls, but he always had this air of playfulness. Never siya nagseryoso, if my memory serves me right.

I looked at the clock and damn it's two in the morning, lumabas ako sa kwarto ko at baka magluto na lang ako ng ramen. Sana may kanin din, hays.
I was slightly surprised when I heard noises in the kitchen, anla may tao. I continued down the hallway to see tita Astrid hovering down on what seems to be a pot of boiling water, nagutom din ata. Magsasalita pa lang sana ako yet she seemed to notice my presence right away.
"Gusto mo din ng ramen, Kia?" I was too shy to speak kaya tumango na lang ako, napatawa naman siya nang kaunti at dinagdagan yung pinapakuluan niyang tubig. I saw tita Astrid as a very strict landlady nung una kong punta dito kasi bihira lang siya magsalita non, maliban na lang siguro pag sa upa at curfew ang usapan. But she turned out to be a very kind person, sadyang di niya lang alam paano i-express.
"So kamusta ang third year, Kia? Kaunting panahon na lang gagraduate ka na." She asked as we were eating the steaming hot noodles.
"Hehe di ko po alam anong dapat ko maramdaman tita. Kung matutuwa ba ako kasi matatapos na or matatakot kasi mas malaki yung mundong haharapin ko after grad." I blurted out and she chuckled.
"Are you scared of leaving someone behind, Kia?" What she said made me choke down on my food and she immediately gave me a glass of water. Nung nahimasmasan ako, she was patiently waiting for me to tell her what was I thinking.
"Someone asked me kasi tita, ano daw sa tingin ko mangyayari after namin gumraduate. Siyempre ako being someone realistic, told that person we would be working of course." I blurted out mindlessly, I looked at tita, expecting her to scold me or something. However, she didn't. She just made a move to clean up and go back to bed, leaving me a question that forced me to break the walls I've been building all this time.
"Sigurado ka bang yun talaga yung gusto mong isagot sa kanya?"
