It's 8pm and I just finished approving some of the proposals for the entire planning of the Hotels Extension. Saktong bumukas ang Pinto ng opisina ko, I saw Commander Keion looking at my desk. Napa tayo ako sa gulat na siya ang bumukas ng pinto, I thought it's Mara!
"Uhm." I awkwardly grab my bag before slowly looking at him. Kinuha ko rin ang apat brown folder para ituloy sa bahay ang checking.
" Are you done? It's time to go home....Chairwoman " he said. Nanatili siya sa hamba ng pintuan habang hinihintay ako. His dark suit defind his musculity.
Naka tayo siya ng tuwid sa likod ng pinto, he's waiting for me to talk. " Uhm... is it okay if I walk beside the seashore? "
He look at me like his anticipating on what i'm about to say "Uh, the mansion is just near the Hotel so... Oh don't worry! you can a-accompany me while walking! hindi ako lalayo" I stuttered.
Without looking at me "Alright" he said then he open the door beside him. Sungit! Dahan dahan akong lumabas ng pinto, my nose sniffed his manly scent. He smell like mint, his hair is properly arange with wax.
The mix scent of his hair and the mint remain on my nose, mabilis niyang pinatay ang ilaw ng office saka sumabay sa lakad ko. I flinch we I feel his skin almost touch mine when he grab the folders from my hands.
" Thanks " maikling tugon ko sa kanya.
Walang imikan hanggang sa makapasok kami ng elevator, he pressed the lower ground before standing beside me.
Now I realize how dumb my offer is, pwede ko namang sabihing si Mara nalang ang sumama sakin! pero it's okay, mukhang galit parin siya kay Mara, poor child.
Habang papalapit kami sa dalampasigan, nadadama ko na ang lamig sa aking katawan. The ties of my hair is hurdle! kaya tinanggal ko sa pagkakatali para mas alunin ng hangin ang buhok ko.
It seems like I am walking alone, nasa bandang likod ko si Commander. " You can walk beside me " I gestured my hand to him. I don't know how to act beside this brutal looking man! he's intimidating.
Now his walking beside me, wala nakong ibang masabi, sabay lang kami ng paglakad.
" How's your feet?" kung kanina'y sobrang pormal niya, ngayon naman ay subrang impormal. Parang pinilit na magsalita sa sobrang awkward.
" It's fine now, namula lang talaga ng konti kanina" Napaiwas siya ng tingin. Ang sungit parin ng mukha niya, galit bato sa mundo?
"Your just in Senior High School? " Diretso niyang tanong ulit, Its not sound offending but I am offended. Napatingin ulit ako sa kanya. I look like a child beside him, my eyes is just in his shoulder level, his trying to slow his phase for me.
Ang liit lang ng hakbang ko dahil sa haba ng biyas niya!
" Uh yeah" I let out an awkward laugh " Too young right? Wala pa kong degree so... I'm not sure if the Hotel will last while I'm encharge"
Napayuko ako sa kahihiyan, its true, i'm not well trained yet "But I grow up here in the Hotel while my sister is the one supervising, so a I learned in process" the thought of my sister triggered all the living emotion inside me.
He did not speak. He's trying to limit the words that coming out " Right, You're too young and naive but-- "
" I know" inunahan ko na siya, he probably think the same. that I'm not capable on anything.
He's making me feel better by just listening and that's enough for me, kahit na hindi siya magsalita. Maybe because this is part of his job, parte ng trabaho ang pakikinig sakin.
