"Oh fuck..." Levi thought as he watched (f/n) look at him and Petra with glazed eyes. This was the worst timing of all that she could have barged in. Besides, who just goes into their teacher's office without being given a permission to enter? Levi made a mental note to chastise her later for it but now it could wait as he had much larger problems at hand.
"I'm sorry for the intrusion," (f/n) said with her eyes still fixated on him and Petra before turning around quickly and running away without Levi being able to say anything until she was already gone.
"Student of yours?" Petra asked slightly amused. "She seemed pretty shocked."
"Yeah, she's in my math class..." Levi answered mindlessly as Petra buttoned up the last buttons of his shirt. She had noticed that his buttons were uneven after he had changed to a new shirt when someone spilled coffee on him and decided to help him fix the shirt. Luckily, he had kept a change of clothes at his office for times like these. He could not bear to wear a dirty shirt at work.
"Hmm... So, I will be seeing her more then, right?"
                              "Yeah."
Petra was one of Levi's high school friends that had stayed close with him until his adulthood. They had both studied to become teachers and today was actually Petra's first day as a substitute teacher for math, history, and biology at the same school where Levi worked. They were very good friends and although they had not dated before, they had had some blurred late-night moments in their younger days that both of them tried to forget. Or at least Levi tried.
"It might be kind of surprising to see one's teacher in such an intimate kind of moment," Petra chuckled. "Hopefully she did not misunderstand the situation..."
"There was nothing to be misunderstood," Levi quickly rebutted and stood up grabbing his jacket and leather bag making his leave. Maybe if he was fast, he could catch (f/n) and explain the situation.
"Oh. Right. Bye-" Petra was left alone in the room as Levi hurried away. "What was that about..." she wondered to herself with a small pout on her lips.

                              ***

Levi had run to the school gates but (f/n) was nowhere to be seen. He cursed under his breath as he tried to think about what to do.
"Should I call her? Text her? I could even look up her address from the school's records and go to see her. No, that would be too much." He frantically pondered about the different options and decided that he would call her after all. Except the first call went straight to voice mail. And the second. And the third. (F/n) was not picking up.
He groaned and sent her a text.
                              Hey, answer your phone.
No answer from her. He sent another text after a while.
                              Let's talk.
                              Still no answer.
Meet me at the office tomorrow.
Tomorrow they would meet, and he would explain everything, and punish her from ignoring him, and then all would be well again, right?

                              ***

(F/n) had run to the bus stop and just in time gotten into a bus that was leaving. Soon after her phone had started ringing as Levi had tried to call her, but she just blocked the calls quickly because she did not want to have that kind of conversation with Levi while she was in the bus and also because at the moment she did not really want to talk to Levi. All kinds of different thought filled up her head as she thought back on the scene she had witnessed. Had Levi lied to her about a girlfriend? Was he two-timing her? What if it was a misunderstanding and she was just a friend? A helpful friend? But it seemed so intimate. Anxiety swelled up inside her as her head kept spinning.
