"Thanks for the ride. I can walk home from here". I told him, after asking him to pull over and bring the car to a halt.

"It's dark. Are you sure you can walk home from here?" He asked with a look of concern on his face.

"Don't worry about me. I'll be fine". I replied, then opened the door and got out of the car.

"Thanks again for the ride and concern". I said again as I closed the door to the car.

"It's no problem. I should be the one thanking you for saving me yesterday".

"Oh no, it's no problem. I just lended a helping hand to you who needed it". I replied and he smiled.

"Umm... Princess?" I heard him call just before I was about to walk away.

  "Yes?"

"Umm... The fact... that... I was terribly injured yesterday..." He trailed off.

  "Yes?"

"Can you please help me keep it a secret?" He said.

At first, I was confused. Why would anyone want to keep that a secret?

Or why would anyone try to gossip about that?

Anyways, he could actually have his reasons.

I would have said no, but for the sake of our first encounter, I agreed.

"Don't worry about it. Your secret is safe with me". I replied.

"The reason-"

"You don't need to explain anything to me. I promised to keep your secret because I wanted too. I don't need any reason". I responded, trying to be as polite as possible. He smiled then whispered "Thanks" and I waved back at him and watched him drive away before I started walking home.

I'd have asked him to drive me home but Green really hated it when strangers come home without his notice. And he could be really mad about it.

He always gives the excuse that as royals we were always prone to attack. We never can tell who is who. So we shouldn't let them know where we actually live.
Blah and Blah and Blah. He could go on for hours.

I removed my heels and walked home barefoot. On getting to the gates, Mary was waiting for me.

Mary ran up to me and took my heels and clutch from me. I removed the turban too and placed it on her head.

"How was your outing, princess?" She asked, as we both walked into the house together. She looked as though she was struggling with the things she was carrying but I didn't care at the moment.

"Good evening, princess". The bodyguards at the entrance greeted. They were muscular and new faces.

"Good evening?...I guess". I replied awkwardly and walked past them.

When we were considerably away from them, I whispered to Mary "Since when did we get bodyguards in this house?"

"Prince Green ordered them from the palace. We now have another batch of maids and Tonio the chef has been employed. He's now working here". She whispered back at me.

"Tonio, the chef?... Great grandma's personal chef who was sacked for no just cause?" I needed to be sure so I asked, stopping dead in my tracks and looking at her.

"Yes, your highness. Prince Green said that-"

"Mary, go upstairs and wait for your mistress". I heard someone say all of a sudden.
