"What the fuck Chris. Chris, you know I told you I don't do shit like this anymore. Especially after that incident.", he rambled on.
Park Jimin was on the phone with his favorite maknae, the younger, who's name was Christopher Bang was the first person Jimin had trained when he taught at Seoul Police Academy.Nowadays though, Park Jimin, now nearing his 30's retired early from his service after taking a bullet to the arm after a robbery.
He figured it wasn't for him, as much as he had wanted to protect the people around him, he soon realized that being an officer would only endanger him.It wasn't just the fear of dying that held him back, but the fact that the work environment was just as hostile. Jimin had been out for years, yet anytime he came into work the subtle jabs at his sexuality drove him mad.
There was many a time where Jimin had nearly gotten kicked off the force first snapping at officers who had decided to fuck with him on the job.
He was glad he dropped the job, in turn for something a bit safer. With age came wisdom, and Park Jimin knew that if it was his time to die he wouldn't go down without a fight.
He wanted to fight for those who couldn't, and despite not wanting to work for the police department he needed to find a way to sustain himself. He became an undercover detective. What he was doing, was of course legal but it did skirt the line at times. He had to be careful considering the government and police departments didn't like having to call him in on cases they couldn't figure out.
It filled him with great pride that someone like him could accomplish so much and only be in his 30's.Not to mention, his notorious reputation with men. He was notorious for being a heartbreaker, don't get him wrong, he loved all of his suitors. But he just couldn't bring himself to settle down, which was important to seemingly all the men he'd had in his life.
He had flings of course, a lot of them.
But it only satisfied him for a short time, as high as his libido was, it couldn't compensate for what he really needed. He loved seeing his junior detectives thrive under his wings, it filled him with purpose.
And love, so much love.Christopher Bang, after realizing that, and he quotes "I'm telling you hyung, the police are just as corrupt as the criminals in this city. They beg, barter and steal as long as it benefits them! I'm telling you I can't take it anymore.". Jimin couldn't help but agree, but he was quite endeared by his passion. They became partners, the maknae being his only partner and the one who trained the junior detectives while Jimin took on the harder jobs.
The harder jobs being: The Untimely Death of Kim Seokjin.
Yes, he was the first to hear about it. It was why he was yelling at his poor maknae over the phone.
The police wanted to work closely with him.He had always worked with his team. It didn't make sense to him, did they think he was an incompetent child?
He may have been shorter than half of them, but he was older and had even more experience than some of the most well trained officers. He scoffed, "Listen, Bang, you tell them exactly what I told you. I'll work with those assholes, but I'm using my own team and they'll follow my lead. Got it? Good.", with that Jimin ended the call.
He turned on his heel, and walked out of his bedroom, irritated.
Jimin was too damn old, and too damn fine to be stressing himself out at the ass-crack of dawn.He had a robe on, silk, hand-woven too. It had intricate designs, swans that were shades of onyx and white. The wings spread wide, delicate against the red of the robe.
Jimin looked heavenly in it, he was thankful he could afford luxuries like this. He had saved and made a lot of money from his police position. (And not that he'd ever mention it, from his small time as a sugar baby)
He had adorned himself in Gucci and Chanel, you'd think he was a model or even an idol if you hadn't known his profession.
For his age, he looked good.He took so much pride in his appearance, there wasn't a day where his trainees and partner hadn't heard him say it.
The neighborhood he lived in was one that held important people inside of it. Celebrities, CEOs, the rich.
But with the rich came trouble.Paying to get out of trouble, even when they knew that Jimin wouldn't take bribes. Even some of the police officers who moved here were guilty of this.
It disgusted him, but at least he had good neighbors. His neighbors were nice, an older woman who had always invited him over for tea.
A woman and her boyfriend, Min Yoon-ji and Jeon Jeongguk.
And a gay married couple, Min Yoongi and… Kim Namjoon. Yeah those were the names.
He didn't know them well, but anytime he saw them they seemed lovely. Always saying their hellos' and paying their dues to the community.
However, Jimin noticed something peculiar about them.Thinking about it more in depth, It seemed the two husbands had gone out of their way to avoid him. Of course there were the usual greetings and goodbyes.
But they had never invited him to their big parties or even over to dinner for a quick chat just to get to know him.Not just Yoongi and Namjoon, but Jeongguk as well.
He wasn't one to take people at face value, he felt like something about all of them was off. Don't get him wrong, he wasn't rude, he wasn't going to question them and prosecute them if they got on his bad side.
He was just suspicious.
His suspicions grew when he noticed the yelling in the Min-Kim home one day after he came from work.
The day of the Kim Seokjin murder. It was muffled but he had heard the two arguing, which was unusual.
All couples argue, of course, but Yoongi and Namjoon seemed...stable?
Unlikely fights. He knew Min worked at HYBE Corp. trying to confront him about the current case could lead to an unpleasant situation for him and Yoongi.
He wasn't an ass, as much as he was suspicious he didn't want to bring up any bad feelings Yoongi might've had.He was going to ask if everything was okay, but before he could Kim had walked out the house in a hurried manner.
Even more suspicious, when coming back to his own house he saw Jeon and Kim together. He wanted to assume everything but his mind told him to wait, find evidence, something just to confirm his suspicions.
He'd ask when the time was right.
For now, he had to prepare himself for the Kim Seokjin case.Cracking his knuckles, he prepared himself for a long day of training and briefing.
"Let's get this over with."
