"Today is the day babe!" Calum shouted and walked up to Emmy who was at her locker.

"What are you talking about?" She questioned.

"You're dyeing your hair blue today, no exceptions." He stated and leaned against the wall of lockers.

"No I'm not ready for that." She sent him a nervous look. Change wasn't necessarily easy for her, even when it just came to her hair. Her whole life she's had long curly black hair, and suddenly it was going to be short and bright blue.

When Emmy got her nose pierced when she was sixteen, she was nervous out of her mind. Her friends told her it would look really really good so she was considering it for a year or two, but that thought of change was what held her back. But then a few days after her sixteenth birthday in October, Calum convinced her to do it. So the couple, and Emmy's mum went to the closest piercing place and got it done, and she actually really loved it.

"Emmy you're ready for anything, you just sike yourself out. Blue hair would look so good on you, come on you have to. If you don't like it then I'll pay for you to dye it back I promise." Calum wrapped his arms around the beautiful girl's waist and tucked her short hair behind her ear. The only reason he sometimes convinced the girl for a bit of a change was because he knew everyone needed a bit of change in their lives.

"But I like my black hair." She whined and took a chunk of her black hair and looked at it.

"You can always go back if you don't like it. I promise I'll pay for it if you don't like it, and I'll even pay for you to dye it blue." He bargained. He really wanted to see his girl with blue hair, he knew she'd pull it off and look as stunning as she always did.

"I'm not letting you pay for me to dye it blue. However I might let you pay for me to dye it back if I don't like it."

"So you're doing it?" He asked hopefully.

"Fine but I'm nervous. What if it looks bad and everyone judges me?" She said anxiously and played with the ends of her short hair.

"Don't be. No one will judge you, and if they do you have me to tell them to fuck off. If anything they'll be like 'Wow she looks so hot I wish she was mine' but you're mine so that sucks for them." He placed his hands on the sides of her head, slightly pushing her cheeks together. She smiled up at him with her sapphire eyes. He looked down at her in awe and kissed her lips tenderly, then her cheek, then placed a quick kiss on her neck, and lastly her hand.

"I love you." Emmy said with the most adoring smile and happiest feeling in her chest.

"I love you more. Come on let's go to room 312." He said and took her hand and led her up to the old art room where they always went.

-

Emmy felt her nerves rise in her chest as she sat in the black salon chair. She had a nice lady that looked about her age doing her hair. She learned her name was Dahlia, and immediately liked her because of her sweet personality.

Calum had explained that his girlfriend was nervous about the whole thing, and judging by the look on her face Dahlia was ready to set up a seat for Calum to sit next to her.

While Emmy and Dahlia went to the back room to pick out the perfect shade of blue, Calum sat there on his phone, texting the boys that this was actually happening. Obviously they had talked about this all day, but with it being Emmy, she could've easily backed out and they knew that.

Their group chat-which consisted of Michael, Luke, Ashton, Nora, Sammie, and obviously Calum and Emmy-was losing their minds over this. This was a lot for Emmy, but she was doing it.

First Dahlia bleached Emmy's hair, which took a really long time because of her dark hair. Then once all the bleached was washed out and her hair was dry she began putting in the blue.

The three talked the whole time, not finding it awkward at all. Considering Dahlia was pretty young, the two felt it was easier to talk to her.

The couple was in the salon for four hours, but it was possibly the quickest four hours they ever experienced. By the time it was time to wash out the blue dye, Emmy and Dahlia went downstairs-where the rest of the salon was-to surprise Calum.

Calum obviously didn't want it to be a surprise, he wanted to experience this entire thing with Emmy all the way through. But the two girls decided it would be fun if they surprised him.

It didn't take long to blow dry Emmy's short hair, and with every second it was drying the more she actually liked it. By the time it was fully dry she was in shock with how much she liked her new short blue hair.

"Do you want me to curl it?" Dahlia asked, holding up a curling iron.

"Sure." Emmy smiled and looked back at the mirror, not getting enough of this new look she had going for her.

"I personally love the blue hair, it really suits you." Dahlia confirmed and smiled at Emmy as she unplugged the curling iron.

"Thank you." Emmy smiled gratefully.

Dahlia led Emmy back upstairs to see Calum sitting in the same chair he was previously in on his phone. Emmy couldn't stop smiling, she was excited to see Calum's reaction to her new hair.

She stood in front of him, waiting for him to look up at her. And when he did, his eyes widened and didn't look away from her.

"Oh my god Emmy!" He shot up from his seat and stood in front of her, running his fingers through her blue curls in awe. He hadn't even noticed his jaw had flung open until Emmy had closed it shut for him. He knew she was going to pull it off, but he didn't know she'd pull it off so well.

"You look gorgeous, fuck. See I told you it would look amazing. Wow I can't believe it." He rambled in excitement, causing the girl to giggle.

"Do you like it?" He asked her, wondering what she thought about it. He hoped that she loved it as much as he did, because if she didn't like it then she'd want to go back to black, and he didn't want her to.

"Yeah I really like it. Thank you for pushing me to do this, I really needed this little change." She answered and took a piece of her hair and looked at it.

"I told you." He smiled down at her and pecked her cheek before she had to pay Dahlia.

Calum ended up paying for half. Emmy didn't even know how she let him convince her but he was very persuasive.

The second the two got into Calum's car, Calum took a picture of his beautiful blue haired girl. He took a bunch, and admired them with a smile on his face. He was able to notice how much her blue hair made her blue eyes pop, which made his heart burst. He always loved her eyes, they were just so unique and different, and he loved that.

"Your eyes look so beautiful with the blue hair." He admitted and looked back at the girl sitting next to him.

"They didn't look beautiful before?" She teased, causing him to roll his eyes.

"Of course they were. They've always been beautiful, everything about you is." He said sincerely, causing a fuzzy feeling to flow through Emmy's veins.
