Saving Her

Memories

I woke up feeling dazed and looked around me.  The room looked very unfamiliar and I began to panic. Suddenly I felt a soothing hand on my shoulder, "Calm down, Princess. "I knew that voice well.Xavier.I looked up to find the bluish-green eyes that left me when I needed their comfort most.

"Don't you ever call me that, Xavier. "I snapped at him. Then I noticed Daniel and Sheila were also in the room. They both looked taken aback because my voice came out sharper than they had ever heard me talk.

"You k-kn-know him? "Daniel surprisingly asked.

I nodded quietly not wanting to say anything. Then I remembered why I was here in the first place. So quickly put a sad smile on my face "C'mon guys, let's not worry about that. We have to go downstairs and have fun. "I sprang up from the bed feeling a bit shaky and Sheila rushed there to my side.

"Easy there, tiger. You have to sit for a little while. "She motioned for both boys to leave. Then she sighed deeply. I panicked because I knew the question coming next.

"Listen, Annabelle I don't know whatever relationship you and Xavier had or what caused a fight between you two .All I know is that he cares a lot for you so it would do both of you a great deal if you sorted out your problems. "Sheila said sounding wistful.

Then I burst into tears. I couldn't hold it back any longer.

*FLASHBACK*

I was practicing some tough dance exercises with music in the background of the gymnastics room. I was wearing my blindfold which I usually had on whenever I practiced alone. My best friend Carla had just left a couple of minutes ago so I was on my own now. Or so I thought. Suddenly I did a double somersault and a pair of strong hands held my body in mid-somersault. Then I was dropped and did a split on the ground .I did a very popular routine with which whoever my mysterious partner was did well.

When we were done I took off my blindfold and adjusted myself to the light. Then I saw him. Whatever his name was. He was wearing wife-beaters and joggers. He looked like he was in the class above me but I couldn't tell who he was. "Impressive moves. Are you a dancer? Because I have never seen you in dance practice before. "I said getting my bottle of water.

He just shook his head."Nope, I only come here to dance when I'm stressed."

"Umm what's your name? Your face doesn't look familiar. Have I seen you around before? "I asked.

"I'm Xavier. "He said smiling at me."I just transferred from Spain two weeks ago and registered here last week."

"Nice to meet you, I'm Annabelle." I said stretching my hand out for a handshake.

"Don't worry, I know you quite well."

I looked at him with a puzzled expression.

"Umm, on Monday I noticed you skipping stones by the lake with a fountain and saying some stuff angrily. But I decided not to bother since I thought you may have wanted to be alone."

I felt my cheeks redden at what he had said. He was right. Carla and I had an argument over who was gonna lead the cheerleading junior team for a competition.

"Yh, umm thanks I appreciate you giving me space. I just had a fight with someone and I needed to let off some steam."

"Parents? Teachers?" He asked raising one eyebrow.

"Nah, my best friend. "Then something struck me.Fisrt, I had just met this guy but here I was basically reeling off the story of my life to him. (A/N: SORRY I WAS JUST FEELING REALLY DIRECTIONER WHEN I WROTE THIS).Second, I had permission to be out of class but him?

"Aren't you supposed to be in class?" I asked him smirking "Because I'm sure you might not have permission to be out of class."

He smiled and shaked his head. "So you are smart like everyone says. Well, I took a pass for the toilet to come here because I had a lot of things on my mind. Then I met a wonderful dancer who cleared my mind off things so I'm better now."

I blushed at his last comment. "Well, Xavier nice meeting you." I said and left to go change.

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

"Wow! "Sheila exclaimed.

"Yh, I know Wow! He called me at night that same day and then we began from there. We were best friends to the extent that people thought we were dating even though we never dated. "I said going into the bathroom to wipe my face.

"That must have been one hell of a good friendship."Sheila said smiling.

"Enough talk about my friendship with Xavier.Let's go downstairs and round up this barbecue.Because my sister is gonna be here soon."I said smiling at her.

When we got downstairs we met Nick and Victoria playing Fifa 14. Victoria looked so happy when she won. Hmmm, might have to ask Nick about that. He was a champion at that game. I walked to the backyard to inform Daniel's family I was leaving and Sheila came over to hug me.

"I'm gonna miss you girl.Today was fun even though Xavier cut it short with his face."She said smiling.

I laughed and called Nick to inform him we were leaving.

"Oh C'mon but i wanna stay longer."Nick whined

"Don't worry,  you can come anytime so i can beat your ass. Right Annabelle?"Victoria said.

I nodded and laughed at their cuteness.

"Ok, bye everyone thanks for having me over." I said as i left.

Danny escorted me to the door along with Xavier.

"Bye Elle, see you in school Monday."He said waving at me.

Xavier followed me out."Why are you following me Xavier?"

"Listen,Princess..."I cut him short at that."You don't have any right to show up out of nowhere and just think everything will be fine.I was in between life and death and you just upped and left without a word."

"But,just let me explain."He said pleading with his eyes.

I was gonna go ahead and let him but Alyssa's car horn interrupted before he could talk.

"Sorry Xavy,I gotta go"I said and ran to her.

As soon as i entered she asked me,"Is that who I think it was?"

I nodded quietly happy that Alyssa had come before my naive side had listened and forgive Xavier that easy.

I felt a hint of a smile on my face as i remembered the grin on his face when I called him by the nickname I had for him.Maybe I should listen to him .Oh well, I will talk to my therapist about it.

So..hey guys! Don't shoot me yet.I just saw this part and decided to complete and post it.I may not update for another while cos i have my final exams coming but just pray i do really well.
