A Spider-Man Story

Chapter 1: Dreams

"Alex? You okay?" He heard his girlfriend say as he was waking back up. He kind of remembered what happened to him. He was lying in a hospital bed, "What happened?" She looked up from praying and ran to get a doctor. The doctor came in, "Alexander, how are you feeling?" Alex looked at his girlfriend
Vanessa and looked back at the doctor, "Well doctor if I'm being honest, I feel great." The doctor looked surprised. Vanessa looked at Alex and said, "Babe you were bit by a spider." His eyes widened, "A spider?!" The doctor said, "Yes, a spider. A radioactive spider." Alex woke up in his bed, he looked over and saw Vanessa sleeping, "It was just a dream Alex, you're not really Spider-Man." He went and took a shower.

Vanessa knocked on the door, "Babe you okay?" He was too in his head as he was washing his hair to hear her, "Babe! Are you okay?" He opened his eyes as he was under the water, "Yeah I was! Until I got water in my eyes." Vanessa said, "Oh my God, I'm sorry my love, I'm going to make breakfast see you in a few." He got dressed up for work and went downstairs. He smelled something good but he couldn't quite put his finger on it, "Oh pancakes, I didn't know what that smell was." Vanessa looked up at him, "Are you saying that my cooking is bad?" He shook his head, "No not at all I mean it smelled good and I didn't know what it was." She looked at him, "Oh okay."

They started eating and Alex seemed quiet, Vanessa took notice really quick, "Love, are you okay?" Alex kept chewing but after he finished he responded, "I had a dream I became Spider-Man. And it's making me hope that the experiments work." Vanessa reassured Alex, "It will babe. You got this." Alex took a sip of his coffee and got up to head to work. Vanessa also got up to fix his tie, "It will work my love you just gotta believe in yourself like the way I believe in you. Because I love you." Alex smiled, "I love you too." They both smiled and they kissed. Alex went into his car to head to work.

When Alex got to work he was greeted by his best friend Jose, "What's up? Ready to go to work?" Alex nodded, "Let's do this." They went to the spider lab. Jose asked the head scientist, "Which spider's are the ones that got the serum?" The head scientist pointed to one spider. They both looked at each other. The scientist handed the spider over to Alex's hand. Alex already had a scar left over from the previous spider but he didn't care. The spider bit him, "That one hurt more than the one from last month." The scientist said, "All we have to do now is wait and see what happens." Jose looked a little nervous, "This better work." Alex looked over at him while holding his bitten hand, "It will, we have to believe it will."

Alex got home and opened the door, "Vanessa we did it again I hope this time it works-" He turned around and saw Vanessa sleeping with her computer wide open. Alex picked her up after closing her computer screen and took her to their room. He was about to head into the shower but a voice came from behind him, "Babe?" He turned around to see Vanessa scratching her eyes as she sat up in their bed, "Oh, my love I'm sorry I just got home. I was going to shower right now." She nodded and laid back down in their bed and fell back asleep. Alex thought to himself, "Wow. She's really tired. I wonder how this case is going." Vanessa was a detective and she was assigned to a case where a man murdered his family. The man disappeared and police can't find him.

Alex gets in the shower and wets his hair ready to wash it. His black curly hair falls onto his face. Then he has a flash of the spider biting him. He gasps for air and almost collapses in the shower. He continues to shower after that. He gets dressed and sees Vanessa still sleeping. He lays down next to her and cuddles her. She moves and opens her eyes as their eyes meet, "Hi." She says half awake. He smiles and kisses her forehead, "Go to sleep my love you need to be fully awake." She kisses him and turns around. Alex falls asleep not soon after going into a deep sleep. He wakes up in a dark room. He hears someone calling his name, "Alex!" He doesn't know who it is, "I'll save you!" Alex jumps into the air and starts swinging, "Hey I have powers!" He thinks to himself. He sees a woman wearing her hair over her face. As he approaches he realizes that it's Vanessa. She turns around and says in a monster voice, "You left me!" Then she eats him. His screams echo around the dark place.
