Chapter8

Dani's POV

After my little breakdown in the field the other night, it's been different between me and Luke, he's either super awkward or he just ignores me and I don't know why, Lilly's been keeping an eye on me and Aleisha has like completely taken my place when it comes to Spencer and Melody, I hardly ever see them anymore and when I do it's either getting them ready for bed or there talking about Aleisha.

I'm working today and I'm talking to my only friend Paige, she works at hot topic too and we talk when we have no costumer's or are putting close on the racks. Right now we are on break and we're sitting in Starbucks just hanging out and stuff, right now I'm telling her about Luke and Aleisha.

" So wait, your telling me that he had a serious girlfriend that he didn't tell you about and then he came over and introduced her as their stepmother?" She asked.

" Yep, and I hardly see them anymore he's always taking the kids with them, it's like I'm invisible, I mean my own children like her more than me." I said as a tear slipped my eye, I wiped it away and she took my hand into hers sweeping it slightly to comfort me.

" Hey, is he taking the kids tonight?" She asked her head tilting to the side in curiosity.

" Ya, why?"

" We should go out!" She said in excitement.

" What, no I can't!" I said

" Cmon, let's go out, we haven't gone out in ages, pleaseeeeeee!" She said with puppy dog eyes and her hands folded together. Fuck,I hate it when she does that.

" Fineeee."

" Yesss, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank youuuu." She squealed coming over and hugging me, I laughed at her excitement, I gotta admit though I was excited , I haven't been out in ages.

We talked for a while longer before we went back to work, we both worked the register talking while we scanned the tags on the close and bagging them, that's pretty much all we did when we worked, believe it or not it was really fun working, well when we had the same shifts, all the other people were kids I went to school with who thought they were better than me because they didn't get pregnent.

It's funny how people treat you after you tell them your having a baby as a teenager, I mean my parents kicked me out and I was the school slut, my brother and my sister and the Hemmings were all I had left, even then Luke was gone jack and Ben were at college and Andrew was out of town working all the time but I'm still thankful for everyone for not writing me off, you know who really loves you when it all comes down to it.

After a while our shifts ended and we clocked out, I told page I would txt her later and got in my car and went home. After I got home and went inside I heard the kids feat running to the door were I was Luke trailing behind. They all looked disappointed that it was me but the kids still hugged me anyway.

" Geez don't be to excited it just me." I said sarcastically.

" Sorry we thought your were Aleisha, the kids have missed her." He said.

Hurt washed over me as I nodded and went into my room telling them I'd be a minute. I sat on my bed and let the tears fall. The kids missed her more than they missed me,God I fucking hate her! My cries turned to sobs, she's taken them from me, she's taken all three of them from me, what is wrong with me. Someone walked in and sat next to me and I felt four little hands on mine and them off my face, I looked up to see Melody and Spencer looking at me.

" Mommy what wrong?" Melody asked curiously.

" Babies, what do you think of your new stepmom?" I asked scared.
