"What?.... What do you mean?" I slowly asked as I rub my eyes away from sleep.

"I'm telling you that I arranged a flight for you -"

I cut her off saying, "No no no, I heard you the first time you said that...but no mom, i'm not coming...home," I mumbled the last part of it, not knowing if I should call it home or not.

"Why not?" She asked through the phone.

"Why not? Mom I have a life and a job here, and this is my home... and now you want me to come and visit you there in New York?! Uh, yeah no thanks, I'm good," I replied a little too harsh.

"Oh, c'mon it's just for a month, besides your father wants to see you," her voice was a bit pleading.

"Nope not happening mom -- he wants to see me? For what? After twenty three years of not talking...nope, I'm not." I yawned as the words came out of my mouth with a good reason.

"That's the whole point Y/N, you both need to talk," her voice was now a irritated, I think.

"No, we don't," I retorted almost slipping a scoff.

"You do and if you don't, I'm coming over there to come and pick you up," she threatened.

"C'mon mom, you don't actually mean that, right?" I complained.

There was silence at the other side of the line as the anticipation kicks in, wanting for my mother's respond.
"I know its hard sweetie, but just give it a try, just for a month and after that you'll be back to your own life," she said and her voice was soft. I didn't reply back for a minute and I took some time to think.

"I don't even go out on Sundays," I said with a sigh.

"Well, its not exactly going out..." She said, making me roll my eyes.

Sure mom, taking a flight two hours from now is not exactly going out. I thought to myself, then I heard her clear her throat on the other side of the phone.

"Let me guess, no matter what I say, I can't say no to this," I stated, now feeling a smirk on her face.

"You can never say no to me," she retorted with a chuckle.

I rolled my eyes again then furrowed my eye brows after as I thought of something.
"Mom?" I said a bit loud as I squint my eyes in conclusion, then I added, "it's 2 a.m in the morning there. Why are you awake?" I asked.

"Well, uhh - I forgot to tell you last night," she said. "Don't change the subject, Y/N," she scolds clearing her throat after but I still have my suspicions.

Maybe mom and dad had a randezvous, I thought to muself with a slight chuckle to my nonesense.

Anyway.

"Just for a month," I said with a stern voice.

"For a month," she agreed, though her voice was hesitant.

"Okay then, I'll see you later," I said and I could have sworn that I heard her shriek.

"Yes! Sweetie, I'll see you later!" Her voice was so excited that it even made me chuckle.

"Wait mom one more thing," I demanded and she hummed as a response.

"Happy, will be there," I requested.

"Of course, I'll send him to the airport,"

"Okay! Thanks mom!" I said a little bit of excited.

"Okay, sweetie, safe flight, also bye, I'm going to sleep," she reasoned, as if.
