You run your hand through your hair as you watch the 'house moving' guys, who are really just undercover agents, unpack the last of your stuff. It had to look like you were really moving in with Nat and Wanda to convince the neighbours, and the couple you were spying on.
The boxes they were carrying were made to look full with furniture and other household stuff, when in reality, they were filled with monitoring equipment to help you keep an eye on everything.
Nat and Wanda are inside unpacking everything, while you pretend to pay the agents as they take stuff out of the truck. Your undercover personality is an innocent student attending the local college, and living with your two friends who also attend the college. You definitely think you've dressed for the part.
First impressions with the neighbours are really important to convince them that you're actually there for school, and not for spying. Speaking of the neighbours, you spin around, and the couple you're supposed to be spying on are approaching you. You'd learnt from the file from Tony that their names where 'Adam' and 'Amanda'. Okay (Y/N), time to get your acting skills ready."Hi! We saw you moving in and just wanted to welcome you!" Amanda beams and you send a fake grin her way.
"Thanks so much!" You reply, and Nat and Wanda clearly heard you talking from inside, because they come out of the house and make their way over to you. "Oh! These are my best friends! We're all living together while we finish college!" You lie, playing your part, and Nat and Wanda give them a friendly greeting, introducing themselves with the fake names they've been assigned.
You exchange polite conversation with the couple, before they quickly excuse themselves and walk back down the street, and back into their house. You didn't get much information from the short chat, but the fact that they immediately came to greet you, and didn't even tell you their names was a little suspicious.
You help the agents unload the rest of the equipment, thank them, and say goodbye before heading into the house behind Nat and Wanda to set everything up.
*Bucky's POV*
I sigh and brush the stray strand of hair out of my face as I load my handgun, and slide it into my holster. Steve, Sam and I are in the surveillance van, across the street from where the building we're watching is. It's the middle of the day so we have to be pretty discreet.
I'm trying to focus on the mission but all I can think about is (Y/N). I know the girls will look after her but I always seem to worry a little extra whenever I'm not on assignments with her. She's extremely capable, and I know she can look after herself, but it's a boyfriends' job to worry.
Suddenly, Steve asks me a question and I'm snapped back into reality. Time to focus, Bucky.
~ A few days later ~
*Your POV*
You, Nat and Wanda are sitting around the kitchen island in the house you're staying at, eating your dinner. You're laughing at a joke Nat made about a Sam, calling him an over-glorified pigeon, and waiting for Tony to call you all for a status update on your mission.
"I'm serious!" Natasha chuckles out, making Wanda almost fall off her chair from laughing too hard. "Tell me a trained pigeon couldn't do what Sam does." She teases again, making you all laugh even harder.
You're interrupted by an incoming phone call from your encrypted phone. Everyone on the team has one for safety and security. You pick up your phone and head into the other room, so you can talk to your brother.
"Hey (Y/N/N), how's everything?" You hear Tony ask through the phone.
"It's not bad, we've got some pretty good intel." You reply. "I sent it all through to you a few hours ago."
"Yeah, I got it. I think it's pretty useful. We might have all we need for now, but I'll go over it all with Fury and give you a definite answer ASAP." He says distractedly, and you can tell he's in his office reading over the intel you sent him.
You managed to set up bugs and hidden microphones in Adam and Amanda's house when they were out, and it had proven to be pretty useful. You even thought you may have got some information about another Hydra base, which SHIELD was working on investigating as we speak.
"Really?" You say hopefully, really missing being home with Bucky. You can basically feel Tony smirking through the phone when he hears your tone of voice, and you know he's about to tease you.
"Yeah, why's that? Are you missing someone? Is it me?" He finishes the sentence in a playful sing-song voice.
"Shut up, Tony." You giggle and he laughs back at you.
"Alright, I gotta call Fury and find out if you girls can come home. I'll keep you updated, (Y/N/N)." He tells you and you instinctively nod to yourself, and Tony, although he can't see it.
"Thanks, T."
"Oh, and, (Y/N)?" Tony calls through the phone. "Bucky misses you a lot too." He finishes, and you can't help but grin from ear to ear.
It was comforting to know that you both missed each other a lot, and both were really looking forward to seeing each other again. It had only been a few days apart, but you had never felt how strongly you did towards Bucky. He was your home.
You talk to Tony for a minute or so longer before you hang up, and head back into the kitchen where the girls are. You're pretty tired and honestly just feel like watching Netflix in bed, so you excuse yourself to Nat and Wanda, and head upstairs to the bedroom you've been staying in. You take a quick shower, and get ready for bed before getting your laptop, and choosing a movie.
You're about to get into bed when you see Bucky's hoodie on the side of the arm chair in the room. You smile and walk over to it, picking it up in your arms and unashamedly taking in the smell of it. It still had his lingering scent on it, and you couldn't wait to get home to him again. You also weren't going to forget any time soon about what he promised you'd both do when you got home.
You slip your arms through, and pull it over your head. You sometimes borrowed his old shirts for pyjamas, and like them, the hoodie drowns you, going down to about your mid-thigh, and the sleeves going past the tips of your fingers. However, you didn't care. You loved how baggy it was on you. It felt just as comforting as being in Bucky's arms, which is why you've been sleeping in it since you've been away.
You walk over to the bed, pull back the covers and slip under them. The bed is a little cold but you had Buck's hoodie to keep you nice and warm. Pulling the laptop towards you, you adjust your head on the pillow and get comfortable, before opening Netflix and searching for a movie. You start to watch it, and about half way through, you feel your eyelids getting heavy and you eventually drift off to sleep.
