(Y/N)'s POV

*beep! beep! beep!*

"Pardon the intrusion, master. It's time for you to wake up."

(Y/N) "mrrmmm... five more minutes...."

"Im afraid you don't have five more minutes, sir. Goro is waiting for you, and as you know, he isn't the most lenient of people..."

I heard the curtains move to the side as the window opened. cold air hit me when someone pulled off my blanket.

i groggily sat up and began rubbing my eyes. opening them to see who i assume is my butler, Akira, but why is he... huh...?

He's so old!

Akira "is something the matter master?"

i could only stare at him with my mouth gaping open and my eyelids peeled as far back s they could go. wait... where the hell am I? I'm not in my room, this looks like... my parent's room?

I rubbed my eyes again, thinking that i may just be dreaming or perhaps my vision being illusioned by residual dream. but when i opened them again and looked around it was the same. im in my parent's room and Akira still looked like an old man.

Akira "Master...? are you well...?"

(Y/N) "Akira... why am i-?"

eh?

why is my voice deeper than i remember it. i looked back at my butler in a panic.

(Y/N) "Akira! am i dreaming? what is going on?!"

Akira "Calm down, Master. Deep breaths..."

panicking wont help so i did as he asked and slowly drew in my breath before letting it out. 5 times around the cycle then i looked at him again.

(Y/N) "Akira... why am i here? in my parent's room?"

Akira "you've been using this room as your primary chambers for three years now sir, after your father died and your mother moved away."

(Y/N) "W-what?!"

Akira "Please stay calm sir. i'll get you some tea and we can talk this through slowly. perhaps you're just shaken from a dream..."

(Y/N) "W-wait! what do you mean they died?!"

Akira didn't answer and left the bedroom. i could only sit and gawk at the door for who knows how long before finally gaining some focus again. i saw a rather expensive looking phone charging on a nightstand next to my bed and grabbed it. turning it on, i see a blank background and a password that i don't know, but seeing the date...

20th of July 2018?!

Wha-?! No! no way! last i remember it was 2006! that's 12 years!

the date is right but what's with that year?! what happened?! why can't i remember the past 12 years?!

this can't be right!

i got out of my bed and looked at a nearby calendar and realized that it was... 12 years had past without me remembering a single thing...

then i turned my head to see my reflection in a distant mirror. i got closer and inspected it further. i look... so much more mature... so it is true, all of this...

Akira "Sir..."

The door opened and in walked Akira with a tray of tea.

Akira "Please sit down, sir. let us get over this slowly. it will all be alright..."

*Timeskip*

After sitting down and drinking tea, i explained everything to my butler, how i don't remember any of the past 12 years and how my looks suddenly changed. neither do i remember my father's passing or mother moving away.

Akira "i see... then... what is your last memory?"

(Y/N) "well... i remember going out on a nightly bike ride with Taka-kun. Sometimes it's hard for me to sleep so i'd ask him to pick me up and it'll get me sleepy. after he brought me home, i remember you standing out the door. i asked you to keep what you saw a secret and you agreed. so we shook hands and.... and.... i don't remember what comes after....

(Mitsuya's first name is Takashi, so the reader calls him Taka-kun or just Takashi)

Akira "Hmm... i see... well i may have an explanation but bear with me sir. twelve years ago, i met a young boy who claimed that he knows someone who could travel through time by a handshake. incidentally, the person he knew traveled back through time twelve years into the past. i remember distinctly that after that night i swore to not tell your parents of your whereabouts, that you fainted shortly after we shook hands. considering that it's the same date yet twelve years further on, i believe what that boy told me may be true, only instead of traveling to the past, your consciousness went into the future."

(Y/N) "You think i traveled twelve years into the future after we shook hands just from the stories of a little kid."

Akira "The world is full of mysteries, master."

(Y/N) "but... you do understand how crazy this sounds right?"

Akira "perhaps not as crazy as what's been going on recently sir..."

(Y/N) "what do you mean?"

Akira stood up from his seat and looked out the window.

Akira "I believe you are well acquainted with the Tokyo Manji Gang due to the fact that your lover is one of it's commanders? well- in the past at least."

(Y/N) "Taka-kun? yeah. and im pretty close to Mikey too. what about them?"

Akira took a few seconds before he could answer. his tone shifted to sadness.

Akira "Im afraid the Toman you know now is not the gang of delinquents you knew before, sir... it has... changed."

(Y/N) "what do you mean 'changed'?"

Akira "perhaps it's best to show you instead... if you could please open your phone sir, i believe your password is and i quote 'Till we meet again.'"

I did as Akira says and opened it.

Akira "now open whichever engine you use and search for news of Toman activity."

Again, doing as he asks; i reeled back as i saw all sorts of news that i could never imagine being committed by Toman. rape, murder, assassinations, pillaging, drug dealing and all other sorts of criminal Hell. my breath became louder as i finally dropped my phone when i saw one particular article.

'Takashi Mitsuya, Toman commander, killed during in-fighting.'

My head felt light as my heart sank deeper and deeper into cold and darkness.

No... it can't be true... Takashi...
