I felt suffocated by my own pent up emotions.

People were everywhere, but a blur for me. The only one I saw was Beomgyu whom I followed blindly.

Nervousness held me tight as I tried hard to tune out all those cries that filled into my ears. But misery was all that can be heard and misery is all I can feel as every step led to me closer to someone who was suffering all because of me.

"W-we are here." I dared to look up to find Kai's parents sitting right outside a ward, holding onto each other as if they had nothing else to live for. Mrs. Huening cried and cried while tears seemed like an endless river of agony in Mr. Huening's eyes. I had never in my life seen him so broken, and my eyes burned at the mere sight, welling up.

But I continued forward, every step heavier than the last. I had little strength, with which I looked behind me. Beomgyu's face, half covered with a mask, was devoid of any emotion. He avoided his gaze from going to the ward's door, which held a small window. Instead, he distracted himself and approached Kai's parents.

I looked back ahead and let out a breath, patting over my own mask before taking that last step towards the ward.
