"Dear Jo."

"I'm sorry."

"But what's also true is..."

"I'm in love with Izzie."

"Izzie had our kids."

"I'm not coming home, Jo."

Past memories with Alex flash through Jo's mind. A tear falls, trickling down her right cheek. She softly opens her eyes and wipes the tear.

[Alex] "You okay?" he asks, gently putting his arm around her.

Jo looked to her right. He was there. It was all just a dream. There were no twins for Alex to leave for. He was where he's meant to be. Right beside her.

[Jo] "Better now." she said, laying her head on his shoulder.

They laid like that for around 15 minutes, content in eachothers arms.

*sound of a baby crying*

[Alex] "That's my cue."

He got out of bed and walked over to the crib.

[Alex] "Good morning, princess." he said, scooping her out of the crib. "Wanna go see Mama?"

He walked back towards Jo and sat back down, handing Luna to Jo.

[Jo] "Hellooo, babbyy." she said in a soft baby voice. "How was your sleep?"

[Alex] "I have to go in early today. Webber paged me at 3 am saying the roof in the left wing is leaking so I need to check it out."

[Jo] "Aw, okay. I have this morning off to spend with Luna so I'll just bring her to the daycare when I get to work." she smiled at Alex.

[Alex] "Alright, perfect." he leaned over and kissed Jo. "I love you." he then bent down and kissed Lunas forehead.

[Jo] "I love you."

He grabbed his keys and left the loft. Jo looked down at Luna, who was staring back up at her, smiling.

[Jo] "Well. Thank god it was just a dream, huh!" she tickled Lunas belly, making her laugh.

Jo got up and made some breakfast for her and made a bottle for Luna. After breakfast, Jo brough Luna to the rug to do some tummy time until it was time to get ready for work.

*At GSM, Jo talking to Mer*

[Mer] "So Alex told me you guys are trying for another baby?"

[Jo] "Haha, yeah. We figured since Luna's already 5 months, if we want them close in age, we should start trying now."

[Mer] "Any luck yet?"

[Jo] "Not yet, no. But it'll happen."

[Mer] "You know you really do bring out the best in him, Jo. He's nothing without you."

Jo looked down and smiled.

[Jo] "I know. He brings it out in me too. And seeing him transition from just a regular man to a father has been the best experience so far."

[Mer] "I know exactly what you mean. When Derek and I adopted Zola, it was like any problems or tension in our relationship disappeared. He was so good with her."

[Jo] "At first I was worried he wouldn't want to adopt her because he didn't really want kids yet. But when he saw her, it's like any parental doubt had just faded away."

[Mer] "Kids really are the best."

[Jo] "They really are."

[Mer] "Alright well, I've got to go do a hernia repair. Good luck with your first OB patient today."
