but really, fuck the whole stupid thing.

Chase and Heatwave stood outside, it was about three-fifteen LC, or at least around that time.
The school gates were probably going to open in a nano-klik or two, and Blades would come skipping out, just like normal.
They talked, somewhat in disagreement about what should be for dinner, but remaining calm about it, over starting an actual teasing argument with each other like when they were at home.
They each leaned on a circuit-tree, not too far from one another, Chase on his right side, while Heatwave leaned backward a little, propping a foot up on the bark.
They paid no mind when noise erupted suddenly. Release was always one of the noisiest times of their day, so they'd developed an ability to ignore all of it, as they kept talking.
However both perked up for some reason when there was a suddenly dip in noise, and felt something wrong on their bond with Blades.
Something very wrong.
They saw his class walk out of the gates -
- but they were all clearly shaken up, almost frightened, some even tearing up. They all varied in levels of distress, but none of them compared to what they were feeling from their bond.
After a minute they grew concerned, especially after hearing a minor struggle, seriously straightening up, with obvious concern.
It was a matter of mere nano-kliks before Blades practically flew out of those gates at them.
But this wasn't normal.
His tightly shut blue optics were waterfalls, and face was flushed, as he wailed, on the verge of being outright screaming, hard sobbing and hiccuping filling the deafening silence, while he spoke in sparkling language, crying for them.
They both straightened up and stepped forward, shifting from relaxed to overwhelmingly concerned, and had moved forward in a sharp attempt to meet him halfway.
He crashed into Heatwave's arms, and was quickly embraced warmly, lifted up to be held on his hip, as Chase quickly swarmed around them, and started to speak to Blades.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, Blades, Blades, sweetspark, calm down, it's okay, it's okay, breathe, breathe, honey-"
"Blades, baby, it's okay, we're here, what's wrong, mechlet? Talk to us."
Blades just buried his face deep into his sire's neck cabling, and cried, while they tried to translate his wailed, sobbed, and hiccuped out words, that were neither comprehensible, nor coherent.
Chase took the seven year old in his own arms, and attempted, barely getting much better of a response.
"Sweetspark, you have to talk to us, or we won't know what's wrong, honey."
"We can't help if we don't know what's wrong, thus not how to help, either. Talk to us, baby."
Blades cried, and tried to bury himself in his carrier's hold and embrace.
After soothing him for a moment, they eventually managed to get something out of his wailing.
"Th-they- they said y-you-"
He broke into wailing again, emotion taking over.
"Hey, hey, sweetspark, what did they say?"
Blades merely kept hiccuping, and sobbing, completely wrecked with emotion.
