Heatwave only had to take one glance at the other three. Boulder was a morning person, and would keep Blades from waking the other two up. Blades was not entirely one, but was energetic through the day.
Chase, however, was another story altogether. In all honesty, Chase did like getting up somewhat early. But, that didn't change the fact that if he didn't wake himself, - which, oftentimes he did not - he hated mornings.
He would wake up, and fall right back to sleep at least thrice. It'd often take breakfast being made before he got up. Even then, his temper was bad.
Long story short:
Chase was a nightmare in the morning.Today, was one of the average mornings, that Chase hated more than anything. He sat at the table seething. A single, hot, cup of coffee, sat before him. It continued to remain untouched, yet.
Heatwave looked at him. "Chase, stop hissing. Blades is in the other room." The fire bot said. He hoped that'd at least get him to quiet down a bit.
It didn't.
Chase gave a growl. Setting his head down on the table, he pulled his blanket over top of himself. His coffee still sat there, hot, and untouched.
Blades walked in, and sat next to Chase. "Why is Chase mad?" He asked. Chase growled louder, giving Blade's servo a harsh poke with his pencil.
Blades yelped, fleeing to Heatwave, who was across from Chase. "Chase, please don't stab him." Boulder said, looking over his shoulder.
Chase glared angrily, and hissed. His hands slowly crept out from the darkness, hiding his features. He took his cup of coffee, still glaring.
Boulder gave a sigh, Heatwave simply continued what he was doing. All the while, Blades clung onto Heatwave, for dear life. He was horrified of what he'd just witnessed from Chase.
Chase gave a barely audible purr, setting his cup back on the table. "Nearly beat a record." Heatwave said monotonously. Boulder laughed.
Chase gave another hiss. He waited for breakfast semi-patiently. He then contemplated whether or not to go back to bed afterwards.
Once food was on the table, Blades happily ate. The other two were slower. They all talked, whilst Chase remained silent.
It wasn't the biggest surprise, when Chase pulled his plate in under his blanket, to eat. He did that on mornings like this a lot. It was pretty normal now.
Heatwave didn't really care. He was used to Chase doing it. Boulder was surprised it took him that long to take it. Blades, however. He looked completely traumatized by it.
Chase then slid the empty plate back out, onto the table. "Well, thank god." Heatwave said. "For a second there, I thought you ate the plate and all." He finished with a laugh. Boulder laughed.
Chase pulled his blanket down, and set his head down onto the table. He gave a purr of approval to Boulder. "Thank you Boulder." He - barely audibly - thanked.
"Y-you..." Blades said, frightened. "I what?" Chase asked, cocking an eyebrow. Blades was silent looked between the dishes, and Chase.
"You just mauled your poor breakfast!"
Heatwave and Boulder burst into laughter. Chase was surprised. "That's certainly an interesting claim, Blades." He said.
Mornings were exceedingly interesting from then on. There was that essence of laughability from it. Then there was always the sense of horror from such a statement.
Nonetheless, it didn't really matter. Mornings were a time of day where secret personalities came out. And really, all of them did love a good laugh at breakfast, honestly.
