~Libby~

I tied my Lapis hair up into a ponytail, then let it loose again. I frowned at myself in the mirror. Why did I have to be so ugly?

"Libby? Are you ready yet?" I heard Elena call from downstairs. Currently, her, Bonnie, and Caroline were waiting for me to get ready for this party they were invited to.

They could all bring a plus one, so, I was allowed to be their plus one. I didn't really want to go. Parties weren't really my thing. Yet, I knew if I didn't, Caroline would be exceptionally mad at me.

I sighed to myself in the mirror before heading downstairs. The girls smiled at me, all beautiful. I felt so out of place next to them.

"Finally! Let's go!" Caroline said. She grabbed my arm and rushed me outside to Matt's truck. He had just arrived, ready to take us to the party.

"Whose house are we going to, again?" I asked on my soft voice. I was almost afraid to voice the question, though these were my best friends.

"The Mikaelson's." Elena told me.

"They're the Original Vampires." Caroline added.

"So be careful." Bonnie finished.

I nodded my head, absorbing the words. Of course I knew about the supernatural entities in Mystic Falls. How could I not? The town was crawling with Vampires, Werewolves, and Witches.

Matt pulled up to a very extravagant looking house. It was a mansion and it was beautiful.

The five of us got out and headed inside. The inside was even more beautiful than the outside. There was a large open floor, a grand staircase, and lots of people milling about. I was in awe.

"Caroline, so glad you could make it!" A guy voiced. He had full lips and blonde hair.

"Klaus." Caroline spat, rolling her eyes. The guy, Klaus, frowned. Then, he looked at me.

His eyebrows furrowed. "Holly?" He voiced.

It was my turn to be confused. Who the hell was Holly?

"Sorry? No... I'm Libby." I said softly. I was still confused.

"My mistake, love. You remind me of someone I used to know." He picked up my hand and kissed the top of it. I blushed furiously, unknown to this kind of behavior.

"Why don't I go introduce you to Elijah?" Elena smiled, latching onto my hand. She grinned slightly, pulling me with her away from Klaus. Her brown eyes scanned the room until they landed on someone.

"Elena, hello. It's so lovely to see you here." A man said, engulfing her in a short embrace. He had brown hair and brown eyes to match. He was very, very handsome and wore a very stylish suit.

"Elijah, this is my friend Libby. She just recently moved from Michigan. She's been staying with Jeremy and I," Elena introduced, holding her hand out in front of me as if to show me off.

Elijah looked at me. His once smiling face turned to one of shock. His body tensed and his eyebrows furrowed. One name left his lips. "Holly?"

"Who is Holly? Someone else just asked me if I was her...." I voiced my thoughts. I was both confused and slightly angry. Whoever this Holly girl was, I wasn't her.

"My apologies, you look just like her. I'm Elijah," He picked up my hand and kissed it, much like Klaus had.

"I'm Libby." I said, blushing. I drew my hand back, cradling it to my chest.

"Again, my apologies, dear Libby." Elijah said with a soft smile gracing his lips. I blushed again and looked away.

"Stefan's here, I'm gonna go dance with him." Elena said. She smiled at Elijah, then me, then left. I tried to call after her, angry at her for leaving me here with this attractive stranger.

I shook my head with an enraged sigh. I turned back to Elijah, smiling as politely as I could. "This is personal, most likely, but... Could you tell me who Holly is? Everyone keeps mistaking me for her..."

Elijah sighed, looking away. His brown eyes grew glassy, as if he was in deep thought. "She was my fiance. On our wedding day, she was killed in front of me."

"Oh... I'm so sorry..." I offered, feeling guilty for asking.

"Nonsense. You deserved to know, as you look so very much like her." He said. I simply nodded in response.

Awkward silence followed. I didn't know what to say or do. I was never good at meeting new people. I'm surprised I got this far alone.

Suddenly, Elijah coughed. He held out his hand and smiled politely. "Would you care to dance?"

"I-I can't dance..." I said, shaking my head to decline his offer.

"I can teach you, if you'd like." He said. His hand stayed outstretched. I could tell he wasn't going to take no for an answer.

"Well.... Okay..." I shrugged. I placed my hand in his, letting him take me to the center of the dance floor. He placed one hand on my waist, the other took my hand and intertwined out fingers. I placed my free hand on his shoulder, feeling his muslces tense, then relax.

Elijah taught me, step by step, how to dance. I had managed to understand it, to get it. Soon enough, I was having fun, dancing with this very intriguing man. I didn't want the night to ever end.
