A lot of couples have that one thing they both love. That one thing that they bond over. The one thing they both enjoy together. For you and Harry, that was late night reading. Every night before you and Harry went to bed, you'd both sit on the window ledge. Harry would sit against the wall, his arms around you as you sit between his legs, your back against his front, and he would read to you.

You loved just listening to his voice, and he loved to read to you. It calmed you and made you feel happy. Being in his arms made you feel safe and being with him made you happy. Sometimes you fell asleep in his arms, but he wouldn't care. You didn't know it, but when you'd fall asleep in his arms, he'd carry on reading the book, even if he'd noticed you were asleep. Having you in his arms brought him comfort, in a way no one else could.

Tonight, you chose for him to read 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' a classic book full of stories for young witches and wizards. Your grandmother used to read it to you before bed almost every night. And every night, you'd choose the same story. Even though there were five different stories for her to read, you'd always choose 'The Fountain of Fair Fortune.' The ending always made you smile and you'd go to sleep happy, wondering if you'd ever meet your own Knight, who could lead you to happiness.

You sat down with Harry, taking the blanket from the floor and unfolding it to cover the two of you. He wrapped his arms around your body and you both got comfortable as he opened the book in front of you. "Which story do you want me to read?" He asked, a smile on his face. You rested the back of your head on his chest and sighed happily. "The Fountain of Fair Fortune," you replied and he opened the book up to page 21.

He cleared his throat and began, "The Fountain of Fair Fortune. High on a hill in an enchanted garden, enclosed by tall walls and protected by strong magic, flowed the Fountain of Fair Fortune. Once a year, between the hours of sunrise and sunset in the longest day, a single fortune was given a chance to fight their way to the fountain, bathe in its waters and receive Fair Fortune for evermore."

You nestled your head in the crook of his neck as he read to you. You took a deep breath, inhaling his scent, the taste of his cologne making you bite your lip slightly. His body was warm, and comforted you, and the size difference between the two of you making you feel safe. The rain was bouncing into the window next to you and the wind howled in the background. Even the sound of it made you shiver and pull the blanket closer and over your shoulders before snuggling your face into Harry's chest as you listened to him read.

"-The sky burned ruby, and it was time to decide which of them would bathe. Before they could make their decision however, frail Asha fell to the ground. Exhausted by their struggle to the summit, she was close to death. Her three friends would have carried her to the fountain, but Asha was in mortal agony and begged them not to touch her. Then Altheda hastened to pick all those herbs she thought most hopeful, and mused them in Sir Luckless's gourd of water, and poured the potion to Asha's mouth. At once, Asha was able to stand. What was more, all symptoms of her dread malady had vanished. "I am cured!" She cried, "I have no need of the Fountain — let Altheda bathe!" But Altheda was busy collecting more herbs for her apron. "If I can cure this disease, I shall earn gold of aplenty! Let Amata bathe!" Sir Luckless bowed, and gestured Amata towards the Fountain, but she shook her head."

At this point, your eyelids began to become heavy. You we're almost at the end of the story, and you tried your best to stay awake. 'I'm just resting my eyes for a few seconds,' you thought to yourself. It's what happened every night. It's what you'd tell yourself every night. But I would never work out, and you'd fall asleep anyway.

"-As the sun fell below the horizon, Sir Luckless emerged from the waters with the glory of his triumph upon him and flung himself in his rusted armour at the feet of Amata, who was the kindest and most beautiful woman he had ever beheld. Flushed with success, he begged for her hand and her heart, and Amata, no less delighted, realised that she had found a man worthy of them."

Harry looked down at you, knowing your favourite part was the end, and noticed for the hundredth night in a row, you were now sleeping soundly in his arms. He smiled sweetly and brushed a piece of hair away from your face. Harry gazed at your beautiful face. He couldn't help but smirk. Your plump lips were slightly parted as you breathed in and out slowly through your nose.

He held you close in his arms, massaging the back of your hair softly with his fingers. He smiled and decided to continue the story as he usually does. Considering there was only a sentence left. He spoke in a quiet voice, almost a whisper, making sure not to wake you.

"The three witches and the Knight set off down the hill together, arm in arm, and all four led long and happy lives, and none of them ever knew or suspected that the Fountain's waters carried no enchantment at all."

Harry slowly closed the book, placing it on the floor beside the two of you. He kissed your temple, lingering the kiss for a few seconds before pulling away and looking down at your face. "You are truly the kindest and most beautiful woman I have ever beheld Miss
Y/L/N," he whispered, repeating the words from the book. He sighed and kissed the top of your hair before resting his head on top of yours. He stayed there for a more few minutes, inhaling the scent of your shampoo. He would have almost fell asleep himself, if it wasn't for a sudden rumble of thunder in the distance shocking him awake.

He sighed picked you up in his arms slowly, making sure you stayed asleep, and stood up, carrying you over to his bed. He placed you down, covering your body with the red duvet and taking his shirt off, before climbing in beside you. He slowly pulled you over to his side and you snuggled up to him in your sleep. He turned the light off and kissed you goodnight, before drifting off to sleep, feeling lucky to have you in his arms.
