"𝙷𝚎𝚜 𝚖𝚢 𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚎, 𝙹𝚊𝚗𝚎." McKenna sighed from Jane's bed. The two female Volturi vampires were talking about their visit to the Cullen's."I can't stay away from him forever,"
Jane sighed, looking at her friend. For the first time in years, she felt sympathy. "I'll send him a letter, telling him to meet you somewhere, I'll cover for you,"
McKenna sat up from her laying position and looked at her blonde friend. "You'll do that for me?"
"Of course, Kenz. I know you hate it here, it would give you a chance to get out. And if things go well, maybe you'll have a way out of here,"
McKenna smiled at the girl before using her vampire speed to go hug her. "Thank you, you're the best,"
McKenna stood looking at the waterfall. She was waiting, hoping, for Carlisle to show up. She was excited, but nervous. Questions ran through her head 'will he accept me?' and she started to doubt herself. She didn't think she was good enough for him. She didn't think he was going to agree to the mate bond. She thought that she would be stuck with the Volturi forever.
"McKenna,"
The brunette turned to see the familiar blonde haired Cullen. "Carlisle," she breathed out.
"Jane said you wanted to talk to me,"
The red eyed girl nodded her head as Carlisle came to stand beside her, looking at the waterfall. McKenna turned, the two in silence, watching the water, hearing it crash against the rocks.
"I do. I think you know why," McKenna stated, confidence not really showing through. Carlisle took notice of this. The two knew of each other. He knew that she had enough power to knock out a military sized vampire army. He knew that she spoke with great confidence that scared people around her. He knew that she was rarely ever nervous.
"That we're mates?" Carlisle asked and McKenna hummed in confirmation.
"We don't have to go though with it." McKenna stated, looking up at the yellow eyed male.
"I'd like to get to know you first," Carlisle spoke, surprising the girl. She thought he would reject her right there and then.
McKenna smiled a genuine smile. "I'd like that,"
So that's what they did. They got to know each other for the rest for the night, even decided that meeting at the waterfall would become a tradition every week. McKenna wanted to see him more often, but due to the fact that she wouldn't be able to get out every day, she wasn't able to.
Throughout the course of 2 months they met every single week, at the same time, at the same spot. They got to know each other and grew closer together.
"My family want to meet you, properly." Carlisle told McKenna. He was leaning against a tree as she sat at the edge by the water. She looked behind her to look at him.
"Really? I would have thought that they'd not want us to see each other," She spoke truthfully. Carlisle chuckled.
"They aren't like that. They want to get to know you before making up assumptions." Carlisle told her.
McKenna looked back at the water, seeing her reflecting looking back at her.
"What's going on in that head of yours?" Carlisle asked her, now sat beside her.
"Just thinking back on when we first met here," She told him. "How I thought you wouldn't want anything to do with me. How I'd be stuck in Italy for all of eternity."
"You really don't like it there?"
McKenna shook her head. "It's alright, I guess. It's just Aro. He treats me like a puppet. Yes I can leave whenever I want, it's just where I would go is the problem." McKenna sighed.
"Come live with us," Carlisle spoke up after a minute, McKenna's head turning to look at him.
"I would, but the others-" She started.
"Meet them when we next see one another. Then you can officially make your decision." Carlisle told her.
"You aren't mad I didn't immediately say yes?"
Carlisle shook his head, his yellow eyes finding her red ones. "I could never be mad. And I know how much family means to you. You would rather me be happy with my family,"
"These two months have really payed off," McKenna laughed.
"They'll love you," Carlisle told the brunette, seeing her mess with the rings fitted around her fingers. McKenna stopped what she was doing and looked at him.
"I can tell because you're messing with your rings," He told her softly, grabbing her right hand and twisting the ring that was on her ring finger to face the right way round.
"C'mon, they're waiting."
The two ran to the Cullen house, using their vampire speed. Although McKenna was faster, she didn't know the way to go, so she was slightly behind Carlisle. The two came to a stop outside of the house and Carlisle took her hand again, lacing their fingers together, before gently pulling her towards the house.
Carlisle drew circles on the back of McKenna's hand which slightly calmed her nerves. She isn't as confident around Carlisle than she is around the Volturi. She really wanted this to go well so that she could be with Carlisle and hopefully stay with his family.
Carlisle opened the door and let McKenna in first. She looked around and it was a beautiful house.
"Esme designed it," Carlisle told McKenna, seeing her face. He led her up a set of stairs and into a room that held 6 vampires and a human. The same people from a while ago.
"Guys, this is McKenna. McKenna this is my family," Carlisle introduced from behind the girl who smiled softly at the group.
"I'm Alice, and we're going to be great friends," The chipper pixie haired girl said.
"Too much happiness?" A blonde girl asked.
"No, no, loved that," McKenna stated sarcastically, causing the Cullen's and soon to be Cullen to laugh. She wasn't used to this much... emotion surrounding her.
"Rosalie," The blonde introduced.
"Esme,"
"Emmett,"
"Jasper,"
"Edward,"
"Bella," The human girl was hesitant. McKenna looked at her.
"Don't worry, I'm not gonna tell the Volturi about you still being human. I know you have that whole ordeal planned out and quite frankly, it's not my business." She told the girl gently, who smiled at her.
