"𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚙𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝚊 𝚠𝚘𝚕𝚏?" McKenna asked Bella who nodded sheepishly. "That's a new one,""What's the weirdest thing you've heard a human do to a wolf?" Emmett asked the brunette.
"Honestly? It's been 300 hundred years, I don't remember," McKenna leaned back.
Emmett kept asking her about the Volturi, and McKenna didn't mind. She would happily answer his questions.
"Emmett, stop terrorising the poor girl," Rosalie joked, walking in with Esme.
"It's okay, Rose, I don't mind it," She smiled at the blonde.
"Okay, one more, uhm... Was Aro ever nice?" Emmett asked making McKenna chuckle.
"He had his moments. But they were extremely rare. Happened every once in a blue moon sorta thing,"
Rosalie pulled Emmett away, so the three brunettes started conversing. Bella was awkward as always, but the other two didn't really notice it much seeing as how easily words slipped out of their mouths.
"You'll find them soon enough. But for now, enjoy your freedom," McKenna told Esme, they were talking about the mate bonds, and now Esme was the only one without a mate.
"I'm sure I will find them." Esme smiled at the older vampire.
"Don't lose hope, Es. If we could find ours, so can you," Bella told her.
Carlisle had came downstairs and was leaning against a wall, watching how easily McKenna had joined his family. She was able to speak with the others so easily, you would have thought she had been there from the very start. The others were so comfortable with her, you would think that Carlisle wasn't the one to 'adopt' the kids.
Carlisle stepped further into the room, making his presence known to the three girls. "Carlisle, hi," Esme greeted, a smile on her face, knowing that he was here to take McKenna.
"Mind if I steal McKenna?" he asked, Esme muttering a slight 'I knew it' which went unnoticed by the other two vampires.
"Go ahead," Bella told Carlisle.
"Are you trying to get rid of me?" McKenna asked Bella teasingly.
"I think it's working," Bella told her as McKenna moved over to Carlisle.
"Oh, it definitely is," McKenna said, both Bella and Esme laughing at the bluntness, Carlisle letting out a smile as he grabbed her hand, intertwining their fingers together.
The two left the house, deciding on going on a walk through the forest. They were in a comfortable silence, McKenna taking in her surroundings. She enjoyed the scenery, she always was one that loved the nature. Growing up her parents would find her in the garden no matter the weather, no matter the time. Half the time she would be sketching what she found, other times she would just be laying on the grass, eye closed.
Carlisle was looking at his mate in adoration. He saw how the nature brought her into a trance like state, her smiling happily, breathing in the cold air of forks.
The two eventually found themselves at the waterfall they called theirs. It was the place they met each other, got to know each other.
"I see you're fitting in with my family well," Carlisle spoke, pulling McKenna from her trance. She smiled warmly at the blonde, nodding her head.
"I feel like I've known them forever." She paused. "They feel like my own kids, and Esme my best friend."
Carlisle smiled back at her. He didn't say anything on that, knowing one of them will say something when they get back. The two fell back into silence, enjoying each other's company.
