Part 6

Narrators POV
The rest of the night Meredith didn't leave her bedroom. She felt so nauseous and just thought resting sounded good. Derek brought her in some dinner that she didn't eat much of and sometimes the kids would come in and cuddle which she enjoyed. Derek came in their room around 10 and just held her until they both ended up falling asleep. The next morning Meredith woke up around 4:30 am feeling sick enough to throw up. Derek was sound asleep so she decided to go to the bathroom in the hallway to deal with her morning sickness. After a couple of minutes of vomiting Derek walked in the bathroom. "Mer you could've woke me you didn't have to come all the way out here" he sighed getting down to sit on the ground next to his wife. "You looked so peaceful" She coughed. "Mer did you take those morning sickness pills Connie gave you?" Derek asked rubbing her back. "Yes but this morning sickness is way stronger than Baileys the pill doesn't do anything" she cried in obvious pain as she puked again. All he could do was hold her hair and rub her back and whisper soothing things in her ear. He felt so useless. Today her morning sickness was come and go. One minute she would be fine, the next she would be puking again. The time was now 5 am and she is still throwing up on and on. Around 5:10 she had vomited almost everything in her stomach but was still managing to puke. It didn't seem normal to Derek but he was no medical professional in that area. "I'm so tired" She cried. Derek held her for the time being that she wasn't puking. "I know you are I'm so sorry" he replied kissing her forehead that was burning up. She ended up falling asleep on the bathroom floor while Derek still held her. He wanted to move her to their bed but didn't want to risk waking her and her not feeling good and she starts puking again so he just went with it. They both were asleep on the bathroom floor. Around 7 Derek woke up to the noise of someone awake. He slowly let go of Meredith making sure to not wake her and went in the living room and saw his mom watching the news. "Good morning how did you sleep?" She asked. "Good until 4:30" he yawned "what happened at 4:30?" She asked "Mer woke up not feeling good but she didn't want to wake me so she went to the bathroom in the hallway. I woke up soon after her and went into the bathroom with her to rub her back and hold her hair back. But she was so sick, the morning sickness meds aren't working, she'll stop puking for a minute or two to catch her breath but then she would go right back to it. She had nothing left in her stomach but she just kept puking. And there's nothing I can do. But she was able to get to sleep around six finally but she fell asleep on the bathroom floor, I didn't want to move her because I don't want to risk waking her and then she doesn't feel good again and can't get back to sleep. She's so tired too. And she's burning up. It doesn't seem right but what do I know I didn't major in OBGYN. But if you need to use the bathroom you will have to use the one in our room" Derek rambled. "Derek it'll be ok. It seems as if she has the flu or something. If she wakes up the same way I suggest going to the doctor. I can ask Nancy if she thinks she should go" Carolyn offered "but Nancy can't know Mer is pregnant she is the meanest to her" Derek reminded. "I'll ask her and say it's for a friends daughter ok? It'll be ok"  she assured. Derek agreed and Carolyn called Nancy. "Hi Nancy I have a question" she said into the phone. "Whats up?" Nancy asked "if someone is pregnant and taking anti nausea pills for morning sickness that don't seem to be doing anything but making her more sick to where she is throwing up every couple of minutes even with an empty stomach what should they do?" She asked her oldest daughter  "well how far is she" Nancy asked "uhm 8 weeks" Carolyn responded "wait is she knocked up?" Nancy asked "who" Carolyn played dumb. "Meredith aren't you at their house?" Nancy asked "yes I'm at their house but it's not for Meredith it's for my friends daughter. And you need to cut Meredith some slack she didn't do anything wrong. Anyways answer my question" Carolyn snapped. "Ok so I would advise her to stop taking the pill and then wait a day and see if she still is as sick. If she is she needs to go in and get looked at, if not the pill was most likely giving her the wrong reaction which is pretty common" Nancy stated. "Thank you so much dear see you in a couple of day" Carolyn said hanging up the phone. "Nancy said to not take the pill again and see if she's like this tomorrow morning. If she is take her in but if she's not it was probably the pill giving the wrong reaction which is common" Carolyn smiled. "Thank you mom for calling Nancy and finding out. And covering your trails" Derek smiled and pulled her in for a hug. Carolyn excused her self off to the bathroom knowing she would have to use Derek and Merediths. She went in their room and went in the bathroom shutting the door. She was amazed on how nice the bathroom is. A walk in shower and a deep bath, a double vanity with two sinks, a huge mirror, it was a dream bathroom. After Carolyn was done she was washing her hands when she saw a positive pregnancy test in between the two sinks propped up against the wall. It warmed her heart so much seeing that Meredith and Derek were both so proud that they were bringing another life into this world. She dried her hands off and then headed back to the living room. Meanwhile Derek went back to the bathroom where Meredith was asleep. He decided that her back would be killing her if she kept sleeping on the floor so he picked her up and took her to their bed. Being careful not to wake her. He was able to get her in their bed with her barely stirring. He pulled the curtains over their windows to block out as much sun as possible. And then decided to join his mom back in the living room. "Good news, I was able to get her to our room without waking her" he sighed plopping down on the couch. "Did she still feel warm?" Carolyn wondered. "Yeah not as warm though, I feel so bad for her" he said shaking his head. "It's not your fault. Well it kind of is but that's not the point. From what I've seen you are the best husband in the world who cares so much about his wife" Carolyn said rubbing her sons back. "Thanks mom, I try my best" he smiled. Sooner later the kids woke up and asked their grandma to take them to the park. Of course she agreed and Derek helped her get them ready. Once they were ready, Carolyn loaded them in the car while Derek watched. "I'll see you guys later I love you" he said as she shut car doors. He went back inside and decided to go see Meredith. He walks into their bedroom and crawls in the bed next to her causing her to stir. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to wake you" Derek apologized feeling bad he woke his wife. "It's ok" she yawned. "How do you feel" he asked rubbing his leg over hers. "Better" she smiled "that's good" Derek said kissing her forehead. "You still feel warm" he acknowledged "don't worry I'm okay. Where are the kids?" She asked. "Mom took them to the park" he smiled. "Are you feeling up to getting up? She feels horrible about last night she didn't know" Derek asked. "I don't want to, I just want to relax today I'm sorry" she sighed. "It's ok I love you" he said getting up to take a shower. "I love you too" she replied picking up a medical journal that she started to read. After his shower he went and made a late breakfast for the family. When the kids and his mom got back from the park they all ate except for Meredith. She wasn't feeling up to eating right now. "Daddy I want to se mommy" Zola whined. "Mommy is trying to rest right now. You can see her later" Derek assured the little girl. The rest of the day they played with the kids outside, watched movies, cuddled and then made them dinner. After dinner the kids were wore out, Carolyn and Derek both got the kids bathed and put to bed. "How's she feeling" Carolyn asked plopping on the couch next to Derek. "Last time I checked on her she said she felt better but she was still warm and didn't feel like coming out here. I think she's still upset about last night" He sighed. "Can you go see if she's awake? If so can I please talk to her I want to make sure she knows everything will be ok even if the worse happens" Carolyn asked. "Yeah I'll be back" Derek said walking towards their room. He opened the door and saw his wife was awake staring at the wall. He went over and kissed her on the forehead making sure she was actually awake. Which she was so he left the room and told his mom she could go talk to her. Carolyn entered the bedroom and saw Meredith laying facing the wall. "Meredith" Carolyn spoke. Meredith look over at the woman and turned back towards the wall. Carolyn sat on Dereks side of the bed and started to speak "Meredith, I'm sorry about yesterday. Most people are excited about this stuff but I didn't know your past. And I want you to know that if anything happens to you or your baby, I would not be disappointed in you. It's won't be your fault, it's something out of your control. And if anyone blames you for something you can't control don't listen to them, because I know if you could control it then you would have a healthy baby every time" Carolyn stated fiercely. "You are one of my girls. I will be there for you no matter what" She said standing up to leave the room. Once she left she stood outside the door for a minute and could hear Meredith crying on the other side of the the door. She quickly opened it and went over to Meredith and forced her into a hug. Even if Meredith didn't want it, Carolyn made sure. "Thank you" Meredith whispered. "Anytime" Carolyn smiled. With that Carolyn left the room and told Derek to go comfort his wife. And that's exactly what he did. He went in the room and held his wife so close to him that nothing not even a piece of paper could fit between them. He kept reminding her how much he loved her and kissing her head. And then he got to thinking that In 2 days Meredith would have to deal with Dereks 4 sisters also. Who love to bring hell with Meredith and he doesn't need his sisters being an ass to his wife.
