Nezuko jumped on Tanjiro and he raised the hatchet he brought. Takeo also held his, but he didn't want to hurt his sister. Tanjiro raised the hatchet and blocked a bite from Nezuko. He used it as a gag and eventually managed to wrestle her up slightly when she started growing. "She's growing!" Tanjiro yelled. Suddenly, he noticed a presence approaching quickly and rolled. "Takeo! Get out of the way!" Tanjiro yelled. Takeo stood watching in shock and saw as a man with a haori that seemed to be made out of two with long and spiky black hair and stature of about 5'11 landed where Tanjiro and Nezuko were just seconds before. "Release the demon!" The man yelled. "No! She's my sister, Nezuko, and I won't let you take her!" Tanjiro yelled, covering Nezuko. Nezuko's eyes started to water but no one noticed except Takeo. Takeo ran to Tanjiro. The man suddenly disappeared and Takeo bent over to cover Nezuko, only to notice nothing under him. "You're too slow! Did you really think covering her with your body would work?!" The man asked with a tone that suggested he was ridiculing him. Takeo then bowed. "Please sir, release my sister," Takeo said. The man's eyes widened. "NEVER SHOW YOUR BACK TO YOUR ENEMY! IF YOU WANT TO HEAL YOUR SISTER, THEN THE DEMONS MIGHT KNOW, BUT THEY WON'T RESPECT YOU! AND FRANKLY, I DON'T EITHER!" The man yelled at him. Takeo clenched his fists and started running at him.

Takeo first threw a rock at the man, who blocked it with the hilt of his katana. Suddenly, he noticed another rock coming out from behind a tree to his left. He blocked again with the hilt of his katana. He then saw the boy coming out. "An attack drove on pure emotion alone. That's no good. He's still weak," the man thought to himself. He slammed the katana into Takeo's back and Takeo collapsed. Suddenly, the man noticed something. The boy was unarmed. Only years of fighting and honing his instinct allowed him to move his head slightly to the right to barely dodge the hatchet, which had cut off a few of his hairs. Suddenly, he felt a cold aura in front of him. He saw the first boy with his hatchet in his hands. "Hinokami Kagura, first form, DANCE!" Tanjiro yelled. The man raised his katana to block, only for it to be broken. He then knocked out Tanjiro before he felt himself go flying. "That kid could break my katana?!" The man thought in surprise. He recovered quickly and noticed the girl who was called Nezuko go running to the spot where her two siblings were. 'I'm too late,' The man thought as he ran to the two boys, hoping to save them in time. He then noticed Nezuko take a protective stance in front of them. He chuckled. 'Then again, it wouldn't be the first time someone said their sibling wouldn't kill them only for them to be killed seconds later,' He thought both for irony and bitterly. The girl then jumped at him but he knocked her out, making her fall in mid-air. He put her next to the two boys and waited for them to wake up.

Tanjiro came too and noticed the man they fought to protect Nezuko standing there. He immediately reached for his ax when the man stopped him. "Don't worry. Go to a man named Sakonji Urokodaki on Sagiri Mountain. He will train you to slay demons. Then you can cure your sister. Tell him Giyuu Tomioka sent you," The man, who was now identified as Giyuu, spoke. Tanjiro's eyes widened. "Thank you, sir!" He yelled. The sound of snow was heard and Giyuu was gone. Tanjiro rolled over and saw Nezuko with a gag in her mouth. She was also fast asleep. Tanjiro smiled. He picked up Nezuko and went down to the outskirts. He then dropped her off in a cave. "Takeo, I'm going to get some stuff to carry so please guard Nezuko," Tanjiro said. Takeo nodded and stood in front of the cave.

Tanjiro went down the mountain and asked to borrow a basket. "Let me pay you!" He yelled. "Oh no, don't worry about it. The basket's broken anyway. You can take the twine and bamboo for free too," The man said. "HERE! It's not much but take it!" Tanjiro yelled, slapping a few coins in the man's hand. He was crying over his hand and Tanjiro took the stuff. He went back up to the mountain and made a basket and took a blanket from their home to cover it. The two started walking up. "Many people have started to disappear on the mountain. Are you sure you want to go out there?" A woman with her child warned and asked. "It's okay ma'am, I've got a good nose so I can stay out of trouble," Tanjiro assured. He and Takeo started walking, hatchets in hand. Tanjiro noticed a light. The two rushed to it and Tanjiro stopped. "I smell blood! People are in danger!" Tanjiro yelled. "Let's go help them!" Takeo yelled, shaking Tanjiro out of his slight stupor. Nezuko got out of the basket and the three walked towards the waystation.

Tanjiro opened the door to the waystation. The three saw two demons feasting on six people. "Hey! Get out of our feeding grounds!" One of the two demons yelled. Suddenly, the other demon stopped. "Wait, are you guys human?" He asked. Takeo's eyes widened and the demons grinned at each other before they jumped at them. The first demon, who appeared weaker, jumped at Takeo and Nezuko. Tanjiro engaged the other demon. "Get him quick and help me with fight these two, Nano!" The first demon yelled. "I'll be there soon Waru," Nano yelled. He swiped his claw at Tanjiro, who raised his hatchet. He ducked under Nano and slashed his neck. "A hatchet! Nice weapon! But it'll take more than that to kill me!" The demon said. Tanjiro grimaced. "I guess this counts as desperate. Hinokami Kagura, Clear Blue Sky!" Tanjiro whispered. He slashed with his hatchet at Nano and Nano stumbled back in surprise. "It burns!" He yelled. His neck and head were off and he was rolling around in agony. His body ran towards Tanjiro, who used Hinokami Kagura breathing to increase his strength. He kicked off the stronger demon, sending him to the ground. He also threw the head, knowing the impact would make it not suffer. "May you rest in peace," Tanjiro said. He ran to help his siblings.

Nezuko kicked off the demon's head and Takeo slashed down on the demon named Waru, who jumped out of the way. He dashed out at them and slashed Takeo, causing him to stumble back. Tanjiro appeared behind him and caught him. "Watch out! The body and head are now two separate entities!" Tanjiro called. Takeo noticed the body grew a head and the head just finished growing a full body. "You know, I'm tired from generating basically an entirely new body. So I think you'll do just fine!" The demon yelled. Tanjiro clenched his fists tightly to calm himself down, causing himself to bleed. Suddenly, the demon stopped, a dazed and drunk look on his face. Nezuko's mouth started to water. Tanjiro's eyes widened. He realized his blood was considered appetizing to demons. Takeo also saw what was happening and he knocked out Nezuko before she went on a complete hunger-high. Tanjiro jumped at the first demon. He quickly stabbed diced him to pieces and dropped him off the ledge. He then cut off the head of the second version of the first demon. The demon's head and two arms jumped at Tanjiro, who pinned him with his hatchet. He then noticed Takeo struggling to fight off the body. "KNOCK IT OFF!" Tanjiro yelled. He tackled the demon's body and sent him down the ravine. "Well then, goodbye world," Tanjiro said allowed. Suddenly, he noticed he wasn't falling. He heard grunting and gasped. He scrambled for the ravine's face and grabbed on the ledge. Takeo managed to pull Tanjiro out and they all were up. Tanjiro walked up to the demon head. He pulled out a pocket knife. "You can't kill it with that,"
